…for the Democrats:

*112,000 new payroll jobs were created in June. Nearly 1.2 million new payroll jobs have been created thus far in 2004, and over 1.5 million new payroll jobs have been created since last August.

*According to the household survey, the unemployment rate remained steady at 5.6 percent as gains in total employment were offset by increases in the labor force.

*Following four consecutive months of gains, manufacturing payroll employment fell by 11,000 in June. However, manufacturing payroll employment has increased by 54,000 so far this year.
