Why do you people believe everything this woman writes? Boots Riley and Jadakiss are no way associated w/ each other, not that it would be a bad thing if they were. Have any of you even actually listened to the song in question (easily the best song on an album that otherwise was a bit of a disappointment). Hip-hop must continue to serve as a voice of dissent in our society. Sadly, most ‘maintream’ acts only glorify the capitalist pursuit of material objects. Of course this all makes sense when you consider rich corporations are the ones who own the radio stations. What kind of stuff do you think they want people to hear. Certainly not the voices of discontent.

Ms Malkin, it is absolutely ridiculous that you would have a problem with someone voicing their point of view.

You clearly do not understand Ms Malkin’s point.

It is not that someone voiced their point of view. It is the view that has been voiced.

Remember when far right wing commentators accused Bill Clinton of having murdered Vince Foster? Jadakiss has as much right to rap about believing Bush to be behind 9/11 as the “Clinton Chronicles” has to write about Clinton being responsible for the death of Vince Foster or Ron Brown. That doesn’t make the viewpoint defensible.

Every meme about “Bush lied” has been proven to be false.
There is PLENTY more media out there, including a little film called Fahrenheit 9/11, but that’s all lies, right?

By the way, yes, the 2000 election is a big stain on American history. If you want people to get over it, then you should get over people not liking Bush.

Honestly, you people are not even worth explaining the concept of logic to. It boggles my mind how you can continue to support a man who LIED to the world about WMD, INSISTS that his actions were right even though MOST of the world, including his own government’s inquiries, oppose him and obviously had much to gain from this ‘war on terrorism’. Yet you STILL support him…?? Anyone who makes up their mind without examining the issues is a completely ignorant FOOL.

It is not “seditious slander” to have an opinion!! What is wrong with you people??? Yeah, people being beheaded, more troops dying, more citizens losing faith in their government, more countries losing faith in America. Yeah, that sounds great! So much better than five years ago!!

As for what Bush did, do you not have a problem with the fact that he’s friends with the family that is responsible for sep 11??? Do you not think that perhaps this was the wrong thing to do??? And Bush really did find WMD, but the “liberal media” won’t tell us, right? And Michael Moore is really a communist, right? In fact, if you look really close at the 9/11 footage, you can see him piloting the plane and I’m sitting next to him, right??

Don’t you understand?? Americans are upset that they were lied to and their fellow citizens have died and are continuing to die for what they see as pointless reasons. Oh, but Jadakiss doesn’t count because he’s black and he’s an entertainer, right? But Britney Spears does because she supported Bush, right? Give it a rest, you just can’t stand to see your bubble burst…

In conclusion, who should be blamed for this mess if not Bush? John Kerry, right? Michael Moore, right? It was their fault, right?

I think you will have a long, hard look trying to find a “pro-Bush” rapper but one might check out Nappy Roots on Watermelon, Chicken and Grits for some mentions of 9-11 that are sentimental though not overtly patriotic. They do otherwise ROCK as well.

I won’t speak for anyone else, but I respect someone who can communicate an intelligent dissenting opinion. This rapper isn’t that person. Michael Moore isn’t that person.

The fact is, I love a good debate, but there comes a time when the only possible response to an idiotic assertion is to call it what it is: wrong.

What Spectre doesn’t realize is that most of us don’t have a problem with people sharing their well-considered opinions. What we have a problem with is the foolish suggestion that President Bush somehow knocked the towers down. That people could take that as some kind of a serious political comment (in the same way that they can take Michael Moore’s manipulative propaganda as serious political commentary) is what is so galling.

I surfed over here from http://www.cornpone.net via http://www.imao.us. I have always enjoyed Michelle�s print work, and now that she has a blog, I plan to visit regularly. I figured her blog would have plenty of informed readers, and I see that to be true. But, with anything, there are always plenty of alternative viewpoints � which is fine. But alternative viewpoints (as with supportive viewpoints) should provide fact, backing, and logical arguments. SH and NE took care of Spectre (is this some JB theme?), but there is one problem with blaming President Bush for WMD. Spectre ignores the fact that President Clinton, France, Germany, the U.N., and practically everyone else claimed that SH had WMD. So was everyone else telling the truth and President Bush is lying � even when they make the same assertions? The �Bush is lying� argument is getting tired.
Anyway Rockynoggin has a very good essay on the price of freedom.

Don’t give yourself a coronary beating your strawman. Michelle didn’t assert that these rappers should not be able to voice their opinions, just that their opinions are, in her opinion, way off base.

BTW, you come off kind of silly telling others to “give it a rest” after moaning about the 2000 election being stolen. Talk about a subject that needs to be given a rest.

Spectre, I wish I could be as oblivious to reality as you. I could literally sleep better at night. It is so much easier to blame Bush. You can believe there will be peace if we just defeat Bush in the election. Reality is the knife is coming for your neck regardless of the outcome of the election. Personally, I would rather have George W. Bush between me and that knife than the Johns.

By the way, the notion that the President of the United States planned an attack on his own country is not an opinion, it is seditious slander.

You protest because Jadakiss does not share the same opinion as you?? Ridiculous.

As for his listeners taking it as gospel without questioning it, at least he has questioned what Republicans take as gospel from their God (and supreme court) appointed leader…

By the way, didn’t the 9/11 commission find that Bush did not act correctly? Oh, but they don’t know what they’re talking about, right? And there are no weapons of mass destruction. Oh, but they’ll find them eventually, right? And Bush and his cronies were profiting from post 9/11 insurgencies into Afghanistan and Iraq. Oh, but that doesn’t really count, right?

So if you’re President, it’s ok to deceive entire nations, steal an election, and put the lives of your citizens on the line so you can make good business deals. But if you’re an entertainer who wants to make a point, you better not do it!! I suppose that’s logical, right??

You guys really need to give it a rest, you’re COMPLETELY wrong on this one and it’s embarrassing to watch you drown slowly in your re-election quagmire…
