Reason #83,456 to home school
From WND: Teacher has kids tasting flavored condoms
According to a report in the Santa Fe New Mexican, parent Lisa Gallegos said that when her 15-year-old daughter balked at putting a condom in her mouth, instructor Tony Escudero told her, “Come on, sweetie, have a little fun.”

This instuctor would be getting a new set of teeth had he said this to MY daughter…..
Why is the health department of New Mexico dealing with this. I’d have called the POLICE. If it were my daughter I’d make sure he was in jail because he isn’t going to be harrassing my daughter into doing sexual activities that she doesn’t want to do (especially when she is a minor).
He should be investigated by the police.
You can’t make this stuff up, especially the line about gay sex to the boy: “Don’t say that, someday you might like it that way.”
Say what?
Un B Lieveable…..
Isn’t this sexual harassment for the instructor to say something like “Come on, sweetie, have a little fun.”?
I am going to have to start planning on sending my (now 8 month old) to a private school for obvious reasons….
>”Never say never, because you never know. Someday you might like it that way.”
Wait a second. Aren’t these the same types of people that defend 12-year-olds’ rights to express their homosexuality? Aren’t these the folks who applauded when a specialized “school” for homosexuals, transsexuals, trangendered, transchickened opened for high schoolers? Aren’t they the ones who are like, “well, if a ten-yearl-old thinks he a female trapped in a males body, who are we to tell him he’s wrong or confused?”
Why is it that when a 15-year-old says he gay, they leave it at that, but if another 15-year-old is firm in his heterosexuality, it’s, “Gee, I wouldn’t be so sure of that. Try it; you might like it!”
*grumble*
Yeah, I’ve tried that line myself…
What kind of foolishness is being presented as “education”? Can the system be taken back or must we re-invent??

And this is why we HOMESCHOOL!
We always get asked about “socialization”. We don’t really want our child to be socialized in this way.
Sounds like sexual harassment to me…
I’m not a bit surprised. The People’s Republic of Santa Fe routinely tries to out-Berkeley Berkeley. And sometimes succeeds.
That doesn’t make it any less outrageous.
But you can’t fix this kind of school system when it has the support of the most vocal “parents.”
That guy better go to jail. If not, I don’t know what is going on in this country anymore.
Hi Michelle!
Off-topic - I moved off Blog*Spot. Please update your link and check out my new home: http://www.lashawnbarber.com. Thanks!
La Shawn
WHAT?!
Okay, I expect that from R. Kelly, not a TEACHER.
This is an outrage, but a reason to homeschool? Seems to me the parents are taking the appropriate action. If we had more parents like this, rather than people who reactively pull their kids out of school when they so much as HEAR of this, maybe the public schools would improve.
Sounds like a major lawsuit to me. Geragos or Cochran perhaps? …
Parents have to be more aggressively pro-active if they chose to send their kids to public school. I hope the Mom in this case continues to raise H***! We can comment and grouse, but it ultimately comes down to the parent(s) stepping up and taking control. If there isn’t corresponding moral and ethical support at the school, then homeschool! In my area, there are so many kids being taken out of public school, that the local school districts are desperately advertising in print and on television/radio. Folks…hit them on the bottom line!
Sick, sick, sick. Time to make the elimination of the Dept. of Education a GOP talking point again….
“Every American is grateful that we have teachers who despite all the hardship sent their way do their best to get our kids prepared for life.” - http://www.johnkerry.com
This story not only makes the case for home or private schooling, it also makes the case for sending John Kerry back to Tax-A-Chusetts!
Who is Geragos/Cochran goung to represent?
The student, or the teacher? ;^)
Off topic:
Dear Ms. Malkin,
have you been deleted from the Dallas Morning News?
On topic:
I don’t know New Mexico (and apparently that’s a good thing) but in Texas, the complaint and response would have been handled by the school district, with outside oversight available. The New Mexico response was clearly a cover-up. I love it when the responder feels too haughty to even provide any facts yielded from the investigation, and is apparently empowered by the state to simply respond that the complaint in invalid.
What’s up with due process and accountability in New Mexico schools?
Marshall,
They were ketchup flavored condoms, so you can obviously see that Kerry will be fully supportive of this teacher….
GMAC,
Eiuw!
As the father of a 13-year old daughter, if this guy had said it to my kid, I would put him in the hospital.
And damn the consequences.
The state will probably draw the line at steak sauce flavored. That’s just not good taste.
Hey, who’s the good Governor of Nuevo Mexico? Maybe he got the idea while working at the White House???
Danielle asked “Who is Geragos/Cochran goung to represent?
The student, or the teacher? ;^)”
A. Why the teacher of course! How dare that naughty child refuse his perfectly reasonable suggestion…to say nothing of her mother…simply barbarous!
Governor Bill Richardson (Dem) - unless that’s Arizona…
This is an outrage, but a reason to homeschool? Seems to me the parents are taking the appropriate action
OH, I see, these actions prevented the daughter, and all the other children in the class, from being asked to taste flavored latex condoms.
Or not.
Top sentence above supposed to be in italics.
This is why we spend money out of our own pockets to send our daughters to a Catholic school, even though there is a very “highly ranked” public school nearby that is supported by our tax dollars.
Is it expensive? Yup. But worth every penny.
Ironic that the Rocky Mountain News recently ran a story about a teacher who began a sexual affair with a junior in high school; said student arranged her schedule so they could have sex 5 days a week; said teacher broke off the affair because he thought it might damage his relationship with the woman who became his wife; said teacher communicated with student, then in college, thinking about the good times they had had together.
If one believes in the slippery slope theory, it would behoove the fathers with students in the Santa Fe school to consider something a bit more appropriate than a broken nose for the teacher in question.
Kristi,
Yes a reason to homeschool…
Why?
Because as of yet nobody is being held accountable and the state is backing the teacher as having done nothing wrong….
It isn’t an either or action. We can choose to try to get the teacher to go to jail AND homeschool in the interim.
To assail those who homeschoool as not helping the schools improve isn’t the correct perspective I believe. I believe people pulling their kids out of school until the teacher is removed is the way to GET IMPROVEMENT on something this radical quickly.
Baklava! Baklava! Baklava!
You were awesome in that MSN commercial! I can’t believe they gave you the trap door.
Yes, another Bill from the, formerly White House ensconced, flavored condom of the month club. To be sure, Mr. Richardson had, on some occasions, taken one young lass by the name Monica to lunch for a “job interview”.
Seems he learned that these condom things would be helpful in keeping “evidence” off ones dress. And the flavor? Just an added bonus!!
He just looks like such a sweet guy on TV too.
VOX Americana!!!!
Scandalous Rumor Department:
I have run into Bill Richardson stumbling around Georgetown liek he was drunk (by P street) TWICE a few years ago … (when he was still living here)
Good Morning Students.
Welcome to Sex Education Class.
As a special treat, I brought some of my own sperm, in convenient little sample cups.
Taste, enjoy.
Never say never.
Sounds like pervert-prosecution time to me. You see, that is exactly what is wrong with the Left. Once they gain power, such as they have in the schools, they show their true colors. If I had a daughter and Tony (who obliviously thinks he is a tiger) said that to her, I hate to say it, but I would have called a few of my friends and Tony would now be nothing more than a big greasy spot by the chalk board. Sorry, I know any Liberal reading this would be appalled. They may not even fully understand their own visceral reaction, so I’ll explain it: most likely it’s because they are a secret deviant too and the idea of their being caught and dealt with by the citizen masses scares the scheiße out of them. After all, the only true Liberal sensibility is “self”.
Home schooling is a good thing in a stable home. Such are the ones most likely to home school in the first place. The Liberal teachers hate this because they aren’t able to be the political “Change agents” that those in the NEA have wished them to be (and have been, in many public schools around the country. I was home schooled for several years, until I was 16 and ready for college. I must say I think one of the most horrifically damaging side effects of the entire affaire was actually being able to find the United States on a map of North America. How unbelievably cruel of my parents, n’est ce pas?
Duck: ew.
Duck:
No way, not before 9 pm local…
I’ll bet that we could find a state to elect Kim Cattrall governor though, and then perhaps this might be possible.
I’ve heard one of Bill Clinton’s first career ambitions was to become a teacher.
OK, Line up….
Now what does the cherry flavored taste like after you taste the orange, lemon, lime and grape first?
Martin:
He settled for “mentor”….
“Following the magnificent triumphs of the first term, an intern whom President Clinton had selflessly agreed to mentor became obsessed with him. Rather than hurt her feelings, the President attempted on several occasions to minister to her physically. The episode, blown out of proportion by the vast right-wing conspiracy and the media, only strengthened the President’s resolve to leave the presidency stronger, more dignified and more honorable than he found it.”
Sidney Blumenthal
“Hey, who’s the good Governor of Nuevo Mexico? Maybe he got the idea while working at the White House???”
It is Bill Richardson.
And I have some good advice for the political prognosticators out there: Do not underestimate the danger from Bill Richardson.
He is positively Clintonesque in his slickness. After all, he studied under the Master (as Secretary of Energy.) But I don’t believe he carries the same kind of baggage. (It sometimes seems like many traditional forms of corruption are not actually illegal in New Mexico.)
I’m surprised Kerry didn’t pick him as running mate. But it seems not impossible to me that Richardson is planning his own run for President and refused initial feelers.
Don’t laugh. Who would have thought Clinton, a governor from a state as piss-poor as Arkansas, could ever be elected President? Richardson has the additional asset of having a Hispanic mother.
Richardson is very, very dangerous.
Vader,
I was surprised also but I remember Bill Richardson saying that he didn’t want the job.
Richardson is slick. But so is Edwards. They are both slick. They present themselves as being a moderate/centrist/populist. They are to the left though…
Richardson might run. Or did any of you miss his sheepish glow and grin when O’Reilly pressed him awhile back. It flatters his ego, the thought of it. He’ll get clocked, but I bet he’s thinking about it.
Gmac: It is no doubt in part due to examples of Liberal spin such as the one you cited above that we now have a thriving Fox News and a thriving blog culture. Thank goodness we don’t have to take Bloomin’-Arosol’s words as gospel.
As Solomon said to the Shulamite: “Behold, you are fair my love…and balanced!”
Vader:
I haven’t seen too many from the Clinton administration who aren’t dangerous, except the dead ones. Even that little old Hazel O’Leary was throwing down on a flight crew yesterday.
I wonder if Richardson will take his mother’s maiden name if he decides to run for President? It seemed to work for Loretta Sanchez (formerly Brixey) in California
As far as sexual harassment goes - judging from comments made recently on a pro-choice site, it’s only sexual harassment if a conservative does it. Otherwise, it’s A-okay.
Or a Republican…. Arnold isn’t a “conservative” but was attacked as a grope-inator.
I agree with you about the good fortune of having Fox News but I am so, so, so tired of Lacey Peterson, Hacking, Jackson, Kobe, and all passing as news. If I want to know what Stan Goldman and Mighty Aphrodite think of Scott slobbering as Amber Frey entered the courthouse, I’ll switch over to the suicidally dull, Court TV. The only time I ever see Catherine Crier any more is when she makes a visit to Fox, and it ain’t because she’s not nice to look at.
It was almost like you could hear the cheers the other day when the producers found out that another pregnant, pretty, and previously unknown woman had gone missing.
UUUUGGGGGG…enough.
The beautiful Lauren Green has got to want to jump out a window when they make her lead with headlines from the Peterson case instead of something substantive.
Ridiculous. This teacher attempts to hide behind the guise of being responsible and trying to educate his students, yet he says “Come on, sweetie, have a little fun.”?!
What’s next, sex toys in class? Handcuff the kids to their desks in order to ‘desensitize the whole stigma of ‘Oh my God, it’s handcuffs.”? After all, we wouldn’t want sexually deviant perverts to feel bad about their behavior. Oh no, only evil Christian zealots like President Bush are against people having a little fun!
JWL, We don’t have to do the slippery slope (what if) scenarios.
This was bad enough for him to be prosecuted in my eyes. You don’t harrass anyone to “ingest” or taste anything they don’t want to in the school my daughter attends. Period. The fact that it was a tool to be used during sex and that bodily fluids are exchanged during the act of tasting adds to the problem.
About the notion stated above that it’s important to keep our kids in public schools to “improve them”….baloney!!! My kids had one shot at getting a good education and there’s no way I used that chance to “improve” our sorry excuse of a school district. Our kids went to a parochial school and all of them have gone on to colleges on full scholarship. One has chosen to be a teacher…hopefully she’ll displace the idiots that promote sex as self-expression. THAT’S how I’ll contribute to “improving” the school system!!
Gmac, I must concede that your point about the sensational news that is covered by all of the networks is tiresome at best. Sadly, we have part of a culture in which the first thing they saw coming out of school in the afternoon were Jerry Springer Spaniel and Fried Okra Winfree. This is what we get when we have inattentive parents and a bunch of latch-key kids: adults who live to hear whether it was one hair or two, whether he graduated from college or didn’t and whether Stan Goldman and “Mighty Aphrodite” are gettin’ it on. Meanwhile we lack the news time to mention that the documents the Bergler took were classified AND that he destroyed and lost some AND he had done this five separate times AND that John Kerry’s campaign quickly took down his Homeland Security position from their website because the information in it was linked directly to the papers Mr. Sandman Berger snatched.
Now for what Catherine said,
That is just the way to change things and exactly why the Left is afraid of parents like you: you are raising leaders who are both well-informed and educated and most dangerously: can think for themselves. God have mercy on the Liberal establishment
JWL: Unfortunately, they already are. Haven’t you heard of those college courses they teach now on “Sexual Exploration?”
Luckily, sex “toys” in the trational (?) sense of the word have been confined to college classes so far, but who knows what they could push next?
Nice job at NRA.com today. I’m not surprised at this teacher. Look at where he is from…New Mexico….a BLUE state. Need I say more?
Remo
I’m an incest survivor. Sounds like assault to me.
“I’m not surprised at this teacher. Look at where he is from…New Mexico….a BLUE state. ”
Be nice. New Mexico would be an important swing state if it had enough electoral votes for anyone to give a Scarlett O’Hare.
The Democrats have a slight edge here, primarily because of the traditional support for the Democratic machine among Hispanics. But in most elections the edge is very narrow and it could go either way.
In 2000, our race was proportionally nearly as close as Florida — something like a 100 vote margin. Gore eventually took it, but no one cared because there was no scenario in which our paltry five electoral college votes would change the outcome.
New Mexico is poor, dirty, and often stupid … but I grew up here and have a perverse pride in the place.
Dont’ you people get it? If we don’t allow children to taste condoms, they could get AIDS!!!
IMO, this is a direct result of the indoctrination going on at the NEA and other state unions.
If you want to see what the NEA has to say about ‘health’, here’s a link.
http://www.neahin.org/programs/reproductive/index.htm#hivaids
Marc is right. Clinton was just helping Monica to avoid getting AIDS
