Brenda McCormick, R.I.P

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 26, 2004 09:10 PM

Brenda McCormick died over the weekend. For 18 years, her non-profit organization, Mothers Inc., has served needy children and seniors with an annual Thanksgiving turkey drive and Christmas toy drive. The organization also provides families with back-to-school supplies and helps locate shelter for the homeless. To the consternation of some of her neighbors, she did her charitable work from her home. The Virginian Pilot notes: “Despite the local opposition and a long series of court battles that twice saw her go to jail on contempt of court charges, McCormick never stopped trying to help those who were hungry or homeless, according to her supporters.”

May God rest her soul.
