HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, MRS. SCHLAFLY

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 21, 2004 10:01 AM

The irrepressible Phyllis Schlafly turned 80 this weekend. Her influence on grass-roots conservatism is profound. And she remains as incisive and impassioned and prolific as ever. Her latest of 20 ground-breaking books is The Supremacists: The Tyranny Of Judges And How To Stop It, but the one we’re reading now in the Malkin household is the fantastic First Reader, Mrs. Schlafly’s phonics system, which we’re using to teach our four-year-old to read.

A Washington Times feature about Mrs. Schlafly’s birthday celebration included the following quote:

Asked to name the greatest accomplishment of her life, she didn’t hesitate a moment before replying, “My six wonderful children.”

God bless her.
