GET OUT THE KLEENEX
Here’s the “news quote of the day” from Chris Matthews, which is featured on Don “Execute the Swift Vets” Imus’ website:
“When you lose an election, it’s horrible especially if you have been President for four years. Can you imagine being President for four years, living in the White House, thinking that you are part of history, thinking God, to some extent, God had something to do with you having this role in history and all of a sudden being told, get out of town, pack, leave, you’re out of here, we don’t like you? We have gotten to know you really well and we decided that we don’t like you. It’s brutal. I saw Jimmy Carter go through that. It’s like rigormortis, physically watching the guy. If you are with these guys tonight, even John Kerry, as cold as he could be, you are going to see emotion like you don’t want to see in public. It shakes you and they all cry. It’s so personal.”
Matthews broke down in tears in 2000 during Al Gore’s concession speech.
Prepare for…Sniffleball.
