Good and gracious

Kerry just finished speaking. I have nothing but good words at this moment. He was human–the catch in his throat when he thanked supporters from the “bottom of his heart.” He was a man–explaining unapologetically that he could not win. And unlike John Edwards, Kerry displayed almost none of the smarminess or hubris that so marred their ill-fated campaign.

Now, if he had only shown a smidgen of this decency towards the Swift Boat Vets, he might have been picking out new Oval Office furniture right about now…

I like Democrats when they concede. They should do it more often.
