A MODERN-DAY CIVIL RIGHTS HERO

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 21, 2005 06:26 AM

My hero Ward Connerly has finished his term on the University of California’s Board of Regents. I was surprised but pleased to read here that he received a standing ovation at the end of his final Regents meeting.

Fortunately, Connerly will continue to lead the fight against race and gender preferences in government hiring, contracting, and higher education admissions. His latest initiative targets racial preferences in Michigan, much to the consternation of state GOP leaders. And he says here that he is considering launching ballot intiatives in several other states.

Your tax dollars at work, splitting atoms in Saudi Arabia. PLUS: France is building reactors for Algeria and Libya.
