EASONGATE: KAUS VS. KURTZ
Mickey Kaus passes along word that Howard Kurtz will have a story on Easongate in tomorrow’s (well, tonight’s) paper. Kaus publishes Kurtz’s e-mail to him, and Kurtz seems a little…well, read it yourself:
I have a story in tomorrow’s paper. Had you been kind enough to check earlier, I would have told you that I flagged it for The Post on the day that I was crashing on CBS naming Bob Schieffer as Rather’s temporary replacement and said we should pursue it. Two other Post reporters pursued it, spoke to Jordan and decided not to write anything based on the fact that what was actually said was in dispute. I had nothing to do with that decision. I’ve since picked it up, done additional reporting and filed my story.
Yeah…snippy.
Still doesn’t explain why Kurtz chose to ignore what must have been dozens of questions about Easongate submitted for his live online, one-hour chat.
Anyhoo, Kaus’s response is here.
JunkyardBlog has fun with Kurtz here.
More at Instapundit. And round-up for the day at La Shawn Barber, who notices that someone has put easonfables.com up for auction at Ebay.
