STIFFING THE BORDER PATROL, PT II
You know those 2,000 Border Patrol agents President Bush promised to fund–and which Tom Ridge recently derided as “fool’s gold?” Well, the President’s proposed budget only funds 210 of them.
I blogged on Bush’s backstabbing of the Border Patrol here. The Tar Pit has much more.
House Homeland Security Chairman Chris Cox (R-Calif.) calls the decreased funding “wholly inadequate.”
If a Democrat did this, would Republicans be so polite? This de-funding stunt isn’t just “inadequate.” It’s a betrayal.
