PAN AM FLIGHT 103: LEST WE FORGET
Reader Joe L. reminds me that today was a significant day in the War on Terror–back when the Islamists had been waging the war, but most of us had failed to see it yet. Writes Joe:
It was on this date, 16 Feb 1989, that investigators announced that the cause of the 1988 crash of Pan Am Flt 103 was…an exploding bomb on-board the aircraft. 270 total dead, including 189 Americans.
Significant…because with this conclusion, the tragedy became a murder investigation…and officially America’s worst terror attack before 11 September 01.
It’s worth remembering…because it’s not something we should forget. Elitists, wackos, and academic nut jobs who cheer for the terrorists and screech against our involvement in the world will never figure it out. September 11 was not a lone act of violence perpetrated by Muslim extremists — it wasn’t the first, nor will it be the last as long as there are those among us who are willing to provide aid and comfort to those whose ultimate goal is to kill Americans.
So true.
Here’s a tribute to those murdered on Flight 103 and here’s the complete passenger list.
Never forget.
