The CBS Evening news – I have to say that I missed it last night; like I do everynight….

….and the people rejoiced. Dan Rather, long-time enemy of truth, has signed off. The blogosphere has been going wild with celebration. This is a great moment for mankind, a kin to walking on the moon or inventing the foot massager.

“Is that the guy who got in all the trouble for that fake stuff?” Incredible Daughter #3 asked when Dan Rather came on the screen tonight. A few seconds later, she added, “It looks like he hasn’t slept for a few days.”

After riding the Memogate scandal right down to the ground like Slim Pickens in Dr. Stragelove, Dan Rather is finally out of our faces. Thank God.
