TERRI NEWS: THERE WILL BE AN AUTOPSY
Via AP:
George Felos, the attorney for husband Michael Schiavo, told reporters later that he had visited Schiavo for more than an hour Tuesday and described her as “very peaceful. She looked calm.”
“I saw no evidence of any bodily discomfort whatsoever,” Felos said.
Felos also said that the chief medical examiner for Pinellas County, Dr. [Jon] Thogmartin, had agreed to perform an autopsy on Schiavo. He said that her husband wants proof of the extent of her brain damage.
According to this transcription from the CNN broadcast of Felos’ remarks, there was also this disturbing exchange:
Reporter: “Will there be full body scan for her supposed broken bones?”
[Felos]: “You’re watching too much CSI!” [he laughs]
What a ghoul.
Update: The Blue State Conservatives ask a good question…
Can someone please tell me why Terri Schiavo needs morphine if starvation and dehydration is a euphoric and painless way to die?
Michael at Curioser and Curioser has good questions, too, about Felos’ announcement regarding the autopsy (see this update for Felos’ explanation about the motives for ordering the autopsy). Michael concludes:
…I think we have an opening here to call Michael [Schiavo's] and Mr. Felos’ bluff: if they want to show us the massive extent of her brain damage, have an MRI and PET scan while she is alive.
Blogs for Terri is also suspicious.
