CHRIS MATTHEWS SAID WHAT?!

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 1, 2005 12:51 AM

I am so sick of the sanctimony of MSM bigmouths lecturing conservatives about the need for civility in the wake of Terri Schiavo’s murder. Look at what MSNBC talk show host Chris Matthews said yesterday on Don Imus’ radio show–a brutish, grotesque, and slanderous quote that the Imus website proudly spotlighted as one of its “News Quotes of the Day:”

[Matthews:] The American people believe that there’s been a lot of politics in this, and they don’t really have confidence in any of the parties here. There’s nobody here who looks particularly compelling or attractive. The husband doesn’t know how to present himself at all, his brother’s okay. The parents… the father seems to be having, I hate to say this, a good time. I don’t know why, maybe it’s the focus, maybe he’s giddy with sadness of the tragedy that has been going on for so long.

Now, look at this exhausted, heartbroken father and tell me he is having a “good time.”

Tell me he looks “giddy.”

Tell me he looks like he’s enjoying the publicity.

We knew Chris Matthews had no shame. Now we also know: The king of cable TV ghouls has no soul.
