STILL FLYING BLIND
Walter Williams takes on the TSA in “Stupid airport security.” An excerpt:
I’ve solved my problem with the TSA. They have their procedures, and I have mine. Mine include minimizing my exposure to stupidity. Therefore, where I used to board a commercial flight three or four times a month, over the last three years, I’ve reduced it to once, maybe twice, a year.
Great read. Just one quibble, though. In arguing that the threat of another 9/11 hijacking is low, Williams writes that “sky marshals are randomly assigned to flights” and are therefore an effective deterrent.
Not if you’ve been paying attention to the pilots and marshals.
