FOIA IS YOUR FRIEND

Blogger Mark Tapscott is the go-to guy on the Freedom of Information Act, a law bloggers tend to take for granted, but which is an invaluable tool for those who do original/investigative reporting on their sites.

Tapscott reports on an important congressional hearing on FOIA reform today–and it looks like the Bush Justice Department is on the wrong side of the issue. Check out his posts here and here, which includes his testimony on the role bloggers will play in increasing transparency in government.
