BATTLE ON BAINBRIDGE ISLAND
There’s an intense debate in Bainbridge Island, Wa., over how the National Park Service should memorialize the WWII evacuation of ethnic Japanese. Comments are due today over several plans. Opposing sides here and here. Resident John Alpaugh, who has been active in the fight for a fair and accurate assessment of WWII relocation and evacuation policies, is asking interested persons to write NPS in favor of “Option A.”
