SHUT UP AND STACK BOOKS
The American Association of Law Libraries recently held its annual luncheon, during which:
Barbara Lah of the New Mexico School of Law submitted a resolution on behalf of the Social Responsibilities SIS, calling for the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq and for a shift of U.S. government budgetary priorities to, among other objectives, provide assistance for the reconstruction of cultural and other resources of Iraq. Ms. Lah noted that the American Library Association recently passed a similar resolution. Of the members present at the meeting, 38 voted to consider the resolution and 64 voted not to consider. As the vote not to consider the resolution required a supermajority, and a supermajority was lacking by four votes, the resolution will be considered at Session II of the Business Meeting on Tuesday July 19th, beginning at 2:15 p.m.
We are all holding our breath…
