RADIOACTIVE — THE DLC AND BILL CLINTON?

By Lorie Byrd  •  August 22, 2005 09:24 PM

Bulldog Pundit at ABP noticed this at Daily Kos:

Two more weeks, folks, before we take them on, head on.

No calls for a truce will be brooked. The DLC has used those pauses in the past to bide their time between offensives. Appeals to party unity will fall on deaf ears (it’s summer of a non-election year, the perfect time to sort out internal disagreements).

We need to make the DLC radioactive. And we will. With everyone’s help, we really can. Stay tuned.

Bulldog doesn’t know what is supposed to happen in two weeks, and neither did those making the comments that I read.

I read a few comments that I assumed were from Republicans, then I remembered that they aren’t allowed to comment at Kos. I then realized that comments like the one pointing out that “the recession of 1990-91 ended in March 1991, by election day the economy had been in recovery for some 18 months….” and one reminding others that Bill Clinton had never won a majority, were posted by Democrats wishing to deny the DLC a claim to their biggest success — the election of Bill Clinton.

How much does Karl Rove have to love this?

Update: From Viking Pundit on the brilliant tactic to push the Democratic party away from the DLC style candidates and toward the more liberal ones: “Maybe the Democrats believe they’ll win the next election just because they can’t possibly keep losing. As Krusty the Klown kvetched after betting against the Harlem Globetrotters: ‘I thought the Generals were due!’ “
