See who’s raising what here.

Special thanks to the 253 readers of this blog who have donated $36,269 to my recommended charity, Mercy Corps, and many other worthy groups so far.
Ok, the rest of you: Dig deep and pick a great charity. The victims of Katrina can’t and shouldn’t depend on the government alone. Help all you can.

Chuck Simmins has the latest total estimated tally on Americans Helping Americans: $401,938,382.
Chuck also sends this article from the Chronicle of Philanthropy:
Americans have given at least $404 million to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The pace of giving is unprecedented in recent American history. In the 10 days after September 11, Americans donated $239 million to charitable causes, and in the 9 days after the tsunamis hit, major American relief groups raised $163 million…
How’s that for stingy, eh?
