PRESIDENT BUSH SPEAKS

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 15, 2005 08:57 PM

Address on Katrina begins in five minutes. CNN previews.

AP previews.

Lorie Byrd at PoliPundit has advice.

Ace of Spades:

“I won’t be liveblogging this; I’ll be watching Survivor, currently being recorded.

Prediction for the speech: Bush will do what he always does when he feels political heat. Spend, baby. Spend like the wind.

Update: Low point of the address: Maybe it’s just me, but isn’t there something tacky about having the leader of the free world reading a phone number from the teleprompter? Also, it’s been three weeks and they’re only now publicizing a number for Katrina families looking for missing relatives? Nowpublic.com and countless other sites like it were up and running by 9am on Aug. 30. Just saying…

Video at The Political Teen. Reax about the reax from Lorie Byrd.

The Political Pit Bull:

If I have one criticism of President Bush’s speech tonight, it’s that he did not address the race issue more bluntly. He should have unequivocally stated that the inadequate response had nothing to do with the skin color of Katrina’s victims. He should have identified the race-baiting that occured in the wake of Katrina as what it is: a polarizing tactic being used by some to score political points at time when the country needs unity and leadership.

Update: Scrappleface spoofs…would that it were true!

Josh Trevino
gives it two thumbs down. Way down.

La Shawn Barber: Bush the Sugar Daddy.
