THE MOONBATS AREN’T DONE YET

I’ve posted the second round of my photos from Saturday’s Sheehanapalooza in Washington at my Flickr site. (Round one is here.)

What a lot of folks don’t know is that the moonbats haven’t left yet. Today, they plan on lobbying Capitol Hill and then sapping local police resources the entire day with what they’re calling “nonviolent direct action.” The event’s main co-sponsor, the far left-wing group United for Peace and Justice, has organized a bunch of “affinity groups” who will try and get themselves arrested.

The United for Peace and Justice group has expressed “solidarity” with radical activists who plan to “disrupt the city’s traffic or commerce.” The group has done nothing to distance itself from property-destroying vandals who warmed up over the weekend with “nonviolent direct actions” like this:

And this:

After last year’s presidential inaugural, the peace-lovers went on a rampage in D.C. that resulted in thousands of dollars of damages to private businesses. I would expect more of the same today from the likes of these black-masked “pacifists:”

Question: Will the rest of the media be out today covering these temper tantrums of the Left? Or will we get more puffery and public relations massages masquerading as objective reportage?

Meanwhile, Steve J. sends along word of Cindy Sheehan’s own little temper tantrum. Poor, neglected Cindy thinks there’s been too much Hurricane Rita coverage. Apparently, she’s wearing out her welcome among some of her worshipers at Daily Kos.

This weekend, photobloggers did the job the rest of the MSM won’t do…

In San Diego, milblogger Smash reports that anti-war protesters are turning on each other.

Juliette Ochieng documented the moonbattery in Los Angeles.

Mike Freeland has more D.C. photos (hat tip: Power Line). EU Rota was also in D.C. with camera in hand–and spotted me, but didn’t say hi. ;)

Mudville Gazette has do’s and don’ts for protesters.

John in Carolina reflects on the power of photo blogging to counter the MSM’s sympathetic anti-war protest coverage. Denise at Finding a Balance has similar thoughts.

And GayPatriotWest asks a good question.

2pm EDT update: Cindy Sheehan arrested. What a waste of police time and energy. Now, will the MSM follow up with photos and stories of the other “nonviolent direct actions” taking place around D.C.?

Monitoring the DC Indymedia site. Here’s their latest dispatch:

1:45pm Park police are arresting those sitting down in front of the White House, for not moving. 100-150 protestors are sitting, getting arrested one-by-one and put in police vans. There’s double that amount of bystanders, including some old people getting knocked around, from those shoving to see better. Cindy Sheehan was one of those arrested.

12:10pm A march is en route to Lafayette park where some marchers will commit some sort of non-violent direction action, civil disobedience. They expect to be at Lafayette Park by 12:45-1pm and commence their action immediately, says an organizer with the march.

“Pentagon Metro closed due to a police situation.” 25 Activists arrested at the Pentagon this morning in a direct action. More. “Forty of us were arrested this morning for shutting down two entrances to the Pentagon. This was the largest arrest at the Pentagon since the beginning of the ‘War on Terrorism.’” Frida Berrigan, War Resisters League.

425pm EDT update. Ankle Biting Pundits have some free legal advice for Cindy.

The Anchoress weighs in on Cindy’s stunt.

Mary Katherine Ham has been paying close attention to the AP’s coverage. Check out the evolution of its wire story on Sheehan’s arrest.

Moonbats, rejoice: Al Jazeera is watching! (Hat tip: Reader Jamie S.)
