AP: Lawmakers Reject Immediate Iraq Withdrawal—

WASHINGTON – The House on Friday overwhelmingly rejected calls for an immediate troop withdrawal from Iraq, a vote engineered by the Republicans that was intended to fail.

As one Republican Congressman put it, echoing the theme of many others of his party: “I respect Mr. Murtha, but this is the wrong time for your resolution.”
