DETROIT’S DIRTY ELECTIONS

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 14, 2005 08:13 AM

What a mess:
Detroit elections officials lost track of ballots in nine precincts — or almost 3,000 votes — in Tuesday’s election, and did not count them until two days after polls closed.
State Elections Director Chris Thomas ordered city officials late Friday to keep their hands off voting records until he meets with them today.
Thomas’ order [...]

THE END OF THE “BUSH LIED” LIE

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 14, 2005 07:27 AM

***scroll for updates***
President Bush’s overdue speech last week is paying dividends, if the Sunday talk shows were any indication.
Read this from Glenn Reynolds, who watched John McCain on Face the Nation, and this from John Hinderaker at Power Line, who watched Jay Rockefeller fall flat on his face on Fox News Sunday.

Ed Morrissey weighs in:
How [...]

MOONBAT OF THE DAY

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 12, 2005 03:50 PM

Promised to do some trainblogging and am catching up on a deluge of e-mail. Several readers sent this disturbing story yesterday of a Brigham Young University professor named Steven Jones who believes that 9/11 was an inside job and that bombs, not the Islamist hijackers, are to blame for obliterating the Twin Towers and all [...]

TURNING BACK INTO A PUMPKIN

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 12, 2005 11:28 AM

I’m back at my hotel here in NYC after three wild and crazy hours with Fox & Friends, and will be taking off for WABC radio soon for a book interview with Monica Crowley at noon. Thanks for all the feedback on the show. You all know I am definitely NOT a morning person and [...]

BUSH BATTLES BACK

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 11, 2005 02:14 PM

President Bush takes on the Cindy Sheehan Left:
“While it is perfectly legitimate to criticize my decision or the conduct of the war, it is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war began. Some Democrats and anti-war critics are now claiming we manipulated the intelligence and misled the American people about why [...]

WHERE IN THE WORLD

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 11, 2005 01:19 PM

I’m on a train to New York to do something new and out-of-the-box tomorrow morning–substitute co-host on Fox & Friends Weekend. The show starts at 7am EST on Saturday and runs for three hours. It’s fast-paced and fun, and (hopefully) you’ll get to see the lighter side of me (aided by a gallon of caffeine).
A [...]

THE DISAPPEARING FRENCH RIOT STORY

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 11, 2005 07:23 AM

Ed Morrissey notes the American media’s loss of interest in the Muslim immigrant riots in France:
Does the American media suffer from ADHD and find themselves incapable of following an important story for longer than ten days? Or do they find themselves increasingly unable to explain the serious and continued violence despite the bribery and politically-correct [...]

SANITY IN THE SENATE

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 11, 2005 07:15 AM

Sen. Lindsay Graham has been irksome of late, but the amendment he sponsored to rein in the ridiculous panoply of legal rights granted to foreign enemy combatants at Guantanamo Bay is a welcome dose of sanity. The Senate approved the amendment to a military budget bill, 49-42, last night:
If approved in its current form by [...]

UPDATE: THE SAN FRAN GUN BAN

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 10, 2005 03:50 PM

You can read the National Rifle Association’s lawsuit challenging Proposition H–the San Francisco handgun ban passed on Tuesday–here.
The AP reports:
In 1982, a state appeals court nullified an almost identical gun ban here largely on grounds that the city cannot enact an ordinance that conflicts with state law that allows for the sale and possession of [...]

I’m too tired to vent, but I think “Ugh” will suffice in response to this news item: House Drops Arctic Drilling From Bill

THE SAN FRAN HANDGUN BAN

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 9, 2005 01:02 PM

San Francisco’s handgun ban passed yesterday:
The gun ban prohibits the manufacture and sale of all firearms and ammunition in the city, and makes it illegal for residents to keep handguns in their homes or businesses.
Only two other major U.S. cities — Washington and Chicago — have implemented such sweeping handgun bans.
With all precincts reporting early [...]

THE MEDIA AND THE UNHINGED MARINE

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 9, 2005 08:52 AM

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 8, 2005 09:10 PM

***will update throughout the night***
1006pm EDT update. The Dems may have claimed victory in NJ and Va., but I think it’s still too early to proclaim this the “Night of The Democrats,” as the Drudge Report headline is calling it. The Soros-backed election “reform” measures in Ohio look like they’re going down in flames. And [...]
