VBSpurs is liveblogging the story of a passenger shooting in Miami, reportedly by an air marshal.

Breitbart/AP coverage here.

Alex Nunez is also covering the story at The Noonz Wire.

Andrew Cochran and John Hinderaker both express doubts about whether the incident was terrorism-related. They’re probably right. More likely drug-related (or maybe not- see update below), but still a significant homeland security case, as Andy notes, because “This would be the first time an air marshal ever discharged a weapon on or near a flight.”

CNN reports that the passenger is dead.

Miami Herald
says more than 100 have been detained for questioning.

The Travel Bloggers round-up reporting discrepancies and other coverage.

Holly at The Moderate Voice is on top of breaking developments.

Update: More on the passenger via MSNBC:

Federal officials told NBC News’ Pete Williams that the man was shot to death.

Mary Gardner, a passenger on the plane, told WTVJ the man started “running crazily through the aisle” after the plane landed in Miami. Gardner said a woman seated with the man ran after him, yelling that her husband was bipolar and had not taken his medication. Gardner described the woman as “hysterical.”

The plane had just arrived from Colombia and was headed on to Orlando.
