AUDIO: THE NY JAIL IMAM
Listen to Imam Umar Abdul-Jalil. As reported first by the New York Post, he’s the the head of Islamic chaplains in the New York City Department of Corrections who gave a speech to a Muslim Students Association meeting in which he said the “greatest terrorists in the world occupy the White House.”
Little Green Footballs, in partnership with the Investigative Project, has exclusive audio and transcripts.
Bryan Preston, noting that Mayor Michael Bloomberg is defending Abudl-Jalil on “free speech” grounds, lays the smack down:
This isn’t about free speech. It’s about a city jail imam supervisor spouting vile anti-Semitism in front of the Muslim Students Association, a group known to incubate young radicals. The man is spouting al Qaeda’s talking points, and he is in a position of power over other imams in the NYC jail system. You don’t suppose he could be using his position to recruit others to the cause he believes in, do you? Nah. Can’t be. Nothing to see here…
