Where in the world is Nasrallah?

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 28, 2006 10:49 AM

The Washington Times says Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah is hiding in the Iranian embassy.

Iran denies it:

Iran on Wednesday rejected allegations on presence of Secretary General of Lebanese Hizbollah Seyed Hassan Nasrallah at its embassy in Beirut.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi made the remark while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the open session of the Majlis.

“The Zionist regime, unable to overcome the legitimate resistance of the Lebanese people, continues its incessant crimes through spreading lies and making unfounded and baseless remarks,” Asefi said. He added, “To get rid of the quagmire it has created for itself, the Zionist regime has no option but to put an end to its crimes and abide by international regulations and the legitimate demands of the Lebanese people.”

He dismissed remarks attributed to Iran’s Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad-Reza Sheibani on Iran’s action in case of Israel’s attack on Syria. “The remarks have not been quoted precisely.” “The ambassador has stressed the necessity of halting Zionist regime’s atrocities and that Iran would make use of all its potentials to provide diplomatic, human and spiritual support for Syria if the country came under attack.”

Ooookay.

Meanwhile, Iranian national broadcasters are standing four-square behind their Hezbollah counterparts:

“We plan to broadcast the Lebanese and Palestinians innocence through showing the world what animosities the Zionist regime is prepared to do so to reach its aims,” said Hassan Maleki.

“We will support the Hezbollah media in this unequal war,” he emphasized.

James Lewis at The American Thinker: “[T]he sooner the Khomeini cult in Tehran can be brought down, the better. The Lebanese proxy battle is important, but not nearly as much as cutting off the monster’s head.”
