The New York Times to the rescue!
Kerry cancels appearances?
Dem cancels Kerry

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 31, 2006 11:04 PM

Guess the NYTimes couldn’t stand to see the Associated Press doing all the water-carrying for Kerry and the Dems. Here’s the Times’ contribution to the save-Kerry’s-backside campaign available tonight on the Times website. The headline? Nope, not “Kerry scorns troops, Bush defends military.” This:

You have to read 15 paragraphs down into the story before you learn what Kerry said. Because “the mounting death toll” in Iraq, RINO Lincoln Chafee’s disavowal of the war, NJ GOP Senate candidate Tom Kean’s and Washington GOP Senate candidate Mike McGavick’s thoughts on the war, and the Democrats anti-Iraq war ads are all more important to the Times reporters than Kerry’s actual words.

All the news that’s fit to bury.

Fox News reports (via Hugh Hewitt via F/R via Allah) that Kerry has cancelled his campaign appearances tomorrow.

Bruce Braley
, an Iowa Democratic congressional candidate, disinivites Kerry:

A Democratic Congressional candidate from Iowa is canceling a campaign event later this week with Senator John Kerry.
Bruce Braley says Kerry’s recent comments about the Iraq war were inappropriate.

Braley is running against Republican Mike Whalen in Iowa’s First District congressional race. It’s a contest considered to be one of the most competitive House races in the country.

Braley’s decision to distance himself from Kerry came as a furor grew from comments Kerry made about the Iraq War during a campaign stop in California on Monday.
