Liberal thuggery at Ball State U.

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 9, 2006 07:48 AM

What is it about David Horowitz that makes college students so unhinged? Once again, he was physically attacked on his way to give a campus lecture. From the Ball State University student paper in Indiana:

Two people are under arrested after one, clad in a black mask and hooded sweatshirt, attempted to throw a cream pie at David Horowitz, University Police Department Sgt. John Foster said. Police Chief Gene Burton stepped between the two, Foster said.

Later, four students who wished to remain unnamed projected “Horowitz not Welcome” onto the south side of Teachers College.

The attackers were members of Students for a Democratic Society, according to The Horse’s Mouth.

The students took their cue from the university’s administration, which vocally opposed his presence:

The author and critic spoke adamantly about the lack of diverse opinions at Ball State. He also singled out university President Jo Ann Gora for disapproving of his presence on campus.

“I don’t understand why the president of this university would take a hostile attitude toward the students that ask me to come here, “Horowitz said.

He was invited to campus by student conservative groups.

Horowitz claimed students are missing out on key opportunities at Ball State: “Students pay $13,000 to go to this university, and they deserve a professional education, not a political indoctrination,” Horowitz said.

Parents of future college students: Scratch Ball State off your list.
