This post is from Big Lizards, not our dearest Michelle, who is off gallivanting somewhere.

Greetings to you, her readers. You might know me; and if you don’t, it’s only because you had a deprived childhood.

My name is Dafydd, and I’m half of Big Lizards blog — the other half being my wife, Sachi. Sachi spends half her bloggish time on her Japanese-only blog, In the Strawberry Field.

Ordinarily, our blogging style is rather different from our dearest Michelle’s: we tend to drone on (and on and on) for 112 screens, raving like intoxicated gibbons during the height of the mating season. I’m usually drunk as a lord while posting, and Sachi is left frantically tugging at my waistcoat, trying to stop me from pouring a giraffe of absinthe into the computer innards. Again.

(I am reliably informed that I sometimes have a tendency towards whimsy.)

But after these first three posts — which are a command performance cross-posted with Big Lizards — we’ll endeavor to blog the way your normal host does… you know, Sachi will practice the impish smile, I’ll put on a dress, the whole nine yardarms.

Sachi is normal; I promise.

To put it in a nuthouse: the next three Lizard posts are very long; but later posts will be considerably shorter. There, I’ve said it. I’m not proud, but there you are.

All of our post titles will begin with the words “Big Lizards,” and the first line will make explicit that it’s from the lizards, not from Michelle (nor See-Dubya, nor the divine Ms. Ham): this is a desperation move to save our host’s reputation for comity (not to mention sanity).

Without much more than the usual dosage of folderol and ado, our next post will be part I of the huge crosspost that will cause Eric Boehlert’s ears to fly off his head in open rebellion.
