MilBlogs on BBC Radio 4

By Matthew Currier Burden  •  March 15, 2007 02:17 PM

Paul Wood, a journalist of the BBC, has a new piece up at BBC Radio 4. It’s a 30 minute podcast that includes readings of military and Iraqi blogs in the war zone - some are featured in The Blog of War - Frontline Dispatches from Iraq and Afghanistan and milbloggers Jason Hartley and Chris Missick are included. Deborah Scranton of The War Tapes wraps up the piece.

While it’s slickly produced and an interesting listen, it contains some language and violence not appropriate for some.

Paul Wood’s reporting has been featured on Blackfive here and here.

“I have been dressed in what is an explosive belt, which the kidnappers say will be detonated if there is an attempt to storm the area,” Mr Johnston said. “They say they are ready to turn the hideout into what they describe as a death zone if there is an attempt to free me by force … It seems the answer is to return to negotiations, which I am told are very close to achieving a deal.”
