…because the Queen wouldn’t give him the time of day at The Queen’s Garden Party earlier today, reportedly:

…guests milled about on the ambassador’s lawn as everyone waited for Her Majesty to appear. British pinstripes, colorful women’s hats, and lots of pink dominated the crowd. The regimental band of the Coldstream Guards played on the portico as she and Prince Philip filed down the stairs into the crowd, shaking hands and making small talk among the crowd. Joe Lieberman with his wife, Hadassah, worked their way to the front of the path to greet her, and later, while Ambassador Manning introduced her to some noticeable VIPs, Brian Williams couldn’t attract his (or her) attention, and she glided right by the NBC anchor. Williams looked crest-fallen.

Gasp! Didn’t she know she was snubbing a card-carrying member of The All-Important Time 100 List?

Update: The Washingtonian has removed the description of Williams without making a transparent, explicit note of having removed it. What gives? Another update: They’ve added a clarification, if you can call it that.
