The Democrats fail again

The Dems’ no-confidence vote seeking to oust AG Alberto Gonzales just failed, 53-38 in the Senate. Is it cause for celebration? Hardly. This whole debacle was one of Bush administration incompetence and Washington/MSM hypocrisy, as Andy McCarthy pointed out. Now you can add a layer of Democrat impotence to the story line.

Update: Byron York points out: “Republican Sens. Collins, Hagel, Specter, Smith, and Sununu voted with Democrats. Perhaps more interesting is the fact that Joseph Lieberman voted with Republicans, which might be interpreted as a further move toward the GOP…”
