I sent my e-mail to RTC-6 earlier this week. I am considering having my kids write their own. They hold soldiers in awe and would love to write. I hesitate only because to start hearing from kids may make RTC-6 miss their own kids even more. I am open to counsel on this.

Thanks for the ping as well.

Just so everyone knows, these e-mails are not sitting idly by in the inbox. We have begun the process of distributing the e-mails to troops. Tomorrow we will be delivering huge stacks to both 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines, and 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment (US Army).

Though deployed troops tend to be a cynical, jaded lot, I have gotten a lot of nodding heads and “Oh, cool” from people who have taken the time to read.

I wish I could say everyone who writes will get a response but that probably just will not happen. Take comfort in the fact that the effort a lot of you put into your e-mails (some were 500+ words) is going appreciated.

And no, nowhere even close to 90% is porn spam. Actually, we haven’t gotten a single piece of porn spam. Maybe 20-30 pieces of European lottery spam and displaced African royalty trying to secure their riches.

I’ve noticed you have quite a rowdy bunch over here who like to YELL, BOLDLY. You might have to get Allah over here to lay down the law so they don’t make “The Boss” look bad. No, I’m more than sure you can handle it, as I have seen you crack a few knuckles with that ruler in past posts. Good luck, I love the new look and comment section.
