What if we refuse to pay our taxes? They can’t jail us all. Civil disobedience is looking mighty attractive. It’s apparent they don’t pay attention to anything else. Hey, and I just love tea parties. In all my years, I never dreamed my government would betray the people this way. We must do something to get their attention. Cancer recovery prevents me from marching, but I have a scooter chair, I can ride. And, I’ve never been to DC. Perhaps it’s time for a visit.

These Rebublican senators don’t seem to understand that they’re committing political sucide on immigration for reasons which appear to be centered around getting votes.

You can’t get elected if you can’t win the primary, and anyone who wants to unseat an incumbant republican needs only to say, “so and so voted for the immigration bill and I oppose it” and bam, a new name on the ballot boxes replaces the one from the last election cycle. And at this point, I’d practically vote for a hypothetical candidate on that statement alone.

Its a whole new ballgame. Used to be you could trust your rep to vote in concert w/their party/platform and constituency. Now it can only be one thing. Follow the money. The corruption is wide and deep. Now we have to watch them like a hawk and raise #%@% to get them to do the right thing for the country. I have heard the energy bill W is proposing is just a boondoggle for ADM. If 1348 can be defeated energy may be the next battle.

My senator, John Warner, has this to say on his webpage:

The venerable soldier, statesman, and Virginian, General George C. Marshall once noted, “In a democracy such as ours, military policy is dependent on public opinion.” The Senate Committee on Armed Services is one of our nation’s important congressional forums for ensuring that national security objectives and policy are guided by the priorities, concerns, and interests of the American people.

So then why is he voting for this shamnesty bill that nobody wants except illegals? These old-fashioned Lindsay Graham-style “moderate” Republicans are so out of touch, and ALL OF THEM, including Warner, need to be voted out of office in the primaries.

If Bond votes for this bill, it will be the end of him in Missouri. I will NEVER vote for him again. I have called his office locally and in Washington, plus emailed him. This makes me ill.

I think Darwin has something here:

“If they vote to end debate … I see it as a sign that the government intends to increase it’s power and control over “We the people”. Perhaps it’s time for mass marches and civil disobedience.”

There is much to recommend this.

These posts make it clear that this issue is coming to a boiling point on the part of conservatives. Maybe, just maybe, this county’s betrayers on this issue will back down and vote no on clouture.

As for the amendments, they, collectively, seem to be big on amnesty and flea bitings on security. This is insane, really, and has got to be stopped.

Here’s what I think will happen.

They’ll get the 60 votes to bring it back to the floor.

It’ll come back and sandbagged with admendments and pork.

It’ll then go down in flames.

Just my prediction, FWIW
