I can't help but celebrate the blogosphere! Bills like this have been rammed down our throats for years, where we only find out about it after the votes. Now, thanks to great blogs like this, we know what is going on every minute of every day. Big, big kudos to you, Michelle!!!

Somehow, I think we have failed to squeeze Hillary and Obama on this thing like we should.

It is radio-active for them. They have no right to act like backbenchers. They should somehow be forced not simply to cast their votes but to take a strong stand.

I can't think it would take much for them to find some inadequcies in the bill that would cause them to oppose it in the end. I think they are badly hurting their WH hopes by voting for this thing. And if they could be peeled off, I would think that would be a killing blow to the bill.

My new plan- I speak Spanish. I'm going to start communicating with Nat Repubs en espanol. If they solicit me for money over the phone, I'm going to respond en espanol diciendo !NO! If they send me a request for fund in the mail with a return envelope, I'm going escribir CLOSE THE BORDERS FIRST en ingles y escribe un otro mensaje critico en espanol. If they don't know Spanish yet, they'd better learn if they have any hope of obtaining donations en el futuro.

Oh sure it can be killed on Thursday, but it most likely squeeks by. It only needs what, 51 votes for approval? Cloture required SIXTY (60) votes.

Okay Kit Bonehead, tell me where would it have been easier to deep six this abomination of a bill?

CLUELESS REPUBLITWIT!

I beleive there is to be another cloture vote on the debate for the admendments. That still takes 60 to pass before the vote on the underlying bill can be taken.

First of all - thank you, Michelle.

I have called my Senator (at the DC office) and asked for my campaign contribution back. It sent them into a tizzy. I have also called the RNC and asked for a refund. Please Please encourage others to do so. Thank you. I have never posted anything - anywhere before.

I have a question for every citizen of the USA. When in all of recorded history has an elected legislature ever voted to legitimize the illegal invasion of the country they were elected to protect?

I'm not smart enough to know the legal definition of TREASON. But I am smart enough to know that it should include this:

Senate vote

Does anyone have some guidelines on how I appeal this to SCOTUS if it passes?

I'm not so much (well I am but I don't think I have standing) wanting to appeal the legislation so much as the process that Harry and friends have gone through to push this on the American people in spite of our objections. Actually if there is an angle to have the entire bill thrown out as unconstitutional, even better.

I would think that with the backroom shenanigans in writing it up, and the way they tried to whisk it through, there must be some recourse/redress for "We the People".

Any good constitutional attorneys out there willing to advise?
