You should read Paul Krugman today on the nature of Fox news. A majority of Fox viewers believe either that Saddam supported the 9/11 attacks (he didn’t) or that he had WMDs at the time of the invasion (he didn’t).

If anybody wants news and analysis by and for liberals, it’s all over the place. Just flip to CNN. Why no calls for Olbermann to have right wing guest hosts? If fairness is what you really want, why just focus on one channel out of many(who are all lib all the time)?
Fairness is not the objective here. The real objective is Chavez style control of opposing points of view. The media market today is full of more choices than ever, and if you don’t like some of the choices, the you have a channel button or an off button on your remote.
That’s not good enough for libs, somebody might actually CHOOSE to hear right of center points of view, and that must be stopped, by force of law if necessary. Stalinist.

My issue isn’t with the fact the fact that she can’t host tonight. It’s just that she hasn’t hosted any night. That is where I have a big issue. O’Reilly never ceases to trump the fact that liberals are on just as much as conservatives… just not as hosts. Ever.
PBoilermaker, it’s nice to know I have been catagorized already. I ask questions and instead of getting answers, some people just insult. And I might ask “truth hurts?” I don’t even know what truth you are talking about since I, too, like when MM hosts the show. I just wish Powers had a chance to host too. I’d like to think she can handle her own just fine up there. Do you not agree?

O’Reilly steams me too, sometimes. I really despise his misinformation on the petroleum industry, he goes to Paris for ratings and acts all fake indignant about it, and most of all immigration.
He’s been saying for years that we should militarize the border instead of a fence, then pivots and jumps in the tank for shamnesty. He’s taken to being a little soft on the war also. But he’s waaaay better than that toxic idiot Olberdork, or the fatheaded Democrat operative loudmouth Screwball Matthews.

I believe you do yourself a disservice when you state that a person who simply asks questions to issues most people don’t want to talk about is painting themselves as a victim. That’s nonsense.
I have asked a simple question of why KP has never hosted a show. I would hope conservatives and liberals alike would ask that questions.
In other threads I have asked why is it that people seek to either make race the ENTIRE discission or make it NONE at all. There is no moderation from my standpoint. That is not painting me as a victim.
When discussing gun rights, I ask the question why people want all guns banned and why people want no guns banned at all.
These aren’t tactics. These are questions. I’m appreciative that you are writing back and responding. But the fact is I have called no one an oppressor, I have called no one out of their name (as some have done to me) and I have tried to answer questions to me from my perspective. I would hope that you would welcome thoughtful dialogue without being judgmental. But by posting things such as this, you are only proving stereotypes correct that debate is only appropiate when only your side is heard.
I don’t speak in absolutes, DK. Don’t attribute your disdain with the comments of others to me.
There are very few absolutes in life and I doubt you will find many who truly see things as being 100% towards either extreme.
The very fact that we are -all- different in one way or another factors into everything we say and do. It is ignorant to believe otherwise. Thus, true equality is never attainable as we are physically and emotionally prevented from reaching that state. This is fact. How you choose to adapt to these differences is what makes the difference. Celebrate diversity as a fact of life and move forward, or focus on diversity and continue to fight amongst yourselves.

Agreed for the most part to your post. How many times have you seen people just go off the handle and call liberals Communist or Socialist, and Conservatives Fascists? Surely it is much more common to lump people together and point out the extreme than address legitimate dissent? To me, that’s why the constant S-P talk on BOR bothers me to a point because it is only talking about the extreme. But alas, it is who he thinks is causing the most trouble, so I do not doubt his desire to point out those who he sees as dangerous.

O’Rielly and Greta are pretty entrenched where they are, so I don’t see a big shakeup in the primetime on FNC anytime soon. The weekend hours are where they are most flexible in the programming, so that’s got a much better shot in the shorter term, IMO.
Plus the core audience for FNC would throw a collective party if Geraldo were to be replaced with our Queen of the blogosphere, given the exchanges they’ve had lately.

I do remember those “View” segments, and they were pretty good. I think the one vs. one format is a little better though. Too many hosts is a frustrating element of that format IMHO.
I like MM vs.KP, with resident internets pundit MKH, and maybe rotating talk radio hosts as guests, like Ingraham one week, then Hannity, then Levin, then Hewitt to discuss what’s hot on their callers minds.
Of course Rush would be awesome, but he wouldn’t do it.

1. Red Eye (comes on in prime-x in HI)& Greg Gutfeld is an inane/profane zero.
2. O’Reilly’s heart is usually in the right place, but as someone said, supra, he really has lost his edge. He never was much of a polemicist.
3. Greta is sweet, but “true crime” wears thin.
CNN, on the other hand, appears to be learning.
Glen Beck, from what I’ve seen, is refreshing and, not to blaspheme, almost Michelle-like in his forthright clarity.
AC seems intelligent, honest and centrist (remember the Hizbollah “ambulance charade”).

The reason I am feeling so strongly about Guantanamo is that while we’re arguing these legal issues, we are getting killed in terms of our international reputation because of the place. And we are losing around the world. And what makes it even more difficult is some of the biggest thugs in the world and people that you want to press on moral issues and human rights issues hide behind Guantanamo and say don’t lecture us when you have Guantanamo.

I couldn’t disagree more. Once again, I work in the media, in some fairly respectible creative capacity I might add, and I’m telling you if done right it would be a hit, hit hit!
Unlike some others, I would give her a little entourage of reporters, mostly with a lighter edge, report a story or two and talk lightly in general agreement with Michelle between her confrontations with idiots. Trust me, if the show was structured to play off her passion and hard-line fact-giving and had a little extra entertainment balance with a few other personalities, I absolutely guarantee that you’d have a hit, at least with the conservative base. Book the show with lots of aggressive liberal men who would look bad on the tube “beating up a woman” while she sissy-slapped them unconscious with the facts. Yum.

Michelle was way to nice to Ellis Hennigan and whoever the sleazy immigrant rights lawyer was, during her hosting of the O’Reilly show. They hogged the conversation and repeatedly made untrue statements. The 77% value that the Hispanic dude gave as Americans who support amnesty is exactly the opposite of the truth. I’ll give him credit for one thing, he can raise my blood pressure higher and faster than any liberal I have had the misfortune to hear. I wish Michelle would use the microphone “off” switch and take more time for herself in rebuttal of the ridiculous statements that were being presented as the truth.

One final observation: It is amazing how those who know the least about war: the Cheneys, the W’s, the Malkins, the Hannitys, the Limbaughs (in other words, the Chicken Hawks) are all for indiscriminate use of force and torture of war prisioners. While those who actually served this country in war: Colin Powell, McCain, Mark Hatfield, Chuck Hegel, yes, John Kerry no reality, no the costs in war and in mistreatment of prisoners. I hate to inform you, Mikey B, but you’re wasting your time here: this is a particularly educated audience that knows 1. the liberal spin, 2. where their views sit in the world, 3. what we feel we know is right - no ambiguity, 4. who the political players and posers are and 5. what noisy jerks like you are all about (see #1, above).

Well, I could go into the media “censoring” the right wing view, which happens everywhere except talk radio, and even then the left has a voice, there, too, which doesn’t exist in the mainstream media.
However, censorship primarily involves an unfair government regulation against free speech, which is what your side of the political wing - the far-leftist loonies - want to do with the ironically-titled Fairness Doctorine.
I, however, cannot censor you. Asking management to take you off the board isn’t requesting censorship. You have indulged in your first amendment rights by blathering incendiary remarks here which are intellectually dishonest.
