Well, your own OSHA is gonna contribute to the jihad by making it impossible for you to get ammo for your firearms. IOW, if the regulations go thru you're gonna be truly DEFENSELESS. Good Luck Americans..,

If all Conservatives are the same then why was there a split on the Amnesty Bill?

All true conservatives are the same on this issue. The McCains, the Grahams, and the Lotts are RINOs and Moderates.

The pockets of the Clerics in Iran and Chavez in Venezula are being swollen from Oil Revenue. No I don't think an Oil Based economy is the best..and yes our Economy is doing well right now, what happens when there is a Crisis? What happens if this character, the subject at the head of this thread gets lucky? 9-11 had wide repercussions, one is also what happens to our Economy.

There are no easy answers to Iraq but the way out is not to retreat, my husband has said, we can fight them now or we can fight them in 10 years, we will end up fighting. My husband has said, take your wallet out, look at your kids and your grandkids, do you want them fighting in 10 years..he is a solider, he perfers that we finish what we started.

I don't see any Political Will in our country to do what you suggest in regard to Iraq/Iran/Saudi Arabia. Where is our leverage?

I do think it is disingenous of the Dems running for President to pretend they are going to do anything different in Iraq. I think when John Edwards, suggest that The War On Terror, is a bumper sticker slogan, is just stupid.

Is there an update, any remarks from leading Dems on this latest remark by this Egyptian Doctor? I hate to give this "Guy" anymore attention then necessary it is after all what he wants.

We just need to pull out of the U.N., form a new support organization for democracies, then do what's best for the economies of said democracies, and let the rest go to hell. Without the vast amounts of money and "western" goods supplied by democracies to despot regimes through the U.N., these others would collapse and fester in their own filth and misery in short order.

They may cut off our oil for a time, but without food and fuel refined from said oil, it wouldn't be long before the people start wondering if follwing a thug like Hugo or Ahmadinijad into abject poverty was such a good idea. And that maybe the west isn't as bad as they were told.

Laree, Personally, I think our OIL based economy is working out fine. Now, I don't think we should sit and wait to fail, but currently, our economy is doing real well. I hate to tell you, but "no bid" contracts have been around since the government developed an acquisition policy. I was in the service for 27 years, and some of those years were in acquisition (only a few, thank God)...There are MANY no bid contracts around, for various reasons. One reason would be speed..another competancy in a certain area (say there's only one brain surgeon, he gets the contract for brain surgery), some for disadvantages businesses (we call them 8A's), but I got to tell you, not many companies can compete with Haliburton as to the huge efforts that were required in the beginning of the Iraq war. Trust me, plenty of defense industry companies are over in Iraq using both no bid and bid contracts. I agree about keeping up our military, but I must disagree with you about us not being able to back up our policy with regard to IRAN/SAUDI etc... We just can't send in troops to be peace keepers or marshalls.

Rick Moran - "Sounds like a Democratic party campaign commercial. Maybe they could hire Zawahiri to lend “authenticity” to their message of abandoning Iraq.

What are we suppose to be now, the Iraqi Islamic Shiites and the Iraqi Islamic Sunnis eternal earth mother?

Petrol Politics, how do you think our Oil based economy is working out for us? I am not against us protecting OUR economy = Oil, when people say we did this all for Oil, I believe they are missing the bigger point- we don't have a choice. As far as Haliburton goes it isn't perfect, what is so American about non bid contracts? I am an American so obviously I want us to prosper this reference to your France and Russia comment.

My husband and other family members are in the military, we were drawn down in the 1990s, remember it started with Bush 41 and then the Clinton administration, this is what you are supposed to do during Peace Time, draw down but not Gut the Military. After Somalia, my brother in law turned to me and said, we are not going to be at Readiness. He said, with in ten years there is going to be an event and we are going to have to play catch up..well it was sooner then ten years 2001. The good news, no one plays catch up like the USA. We don't have the size of US Military to back up telling Iraq/Iran/Saudi Arabia to piss up a rope.

For the record I didn't make any references to your intellect or it wanting.

Hey, I didn't coin the phrase murder either, but I bet the police will want to arrest me if I commit one!...and I'll take #3 to task at another time. I only try to piss off one person at a time, makes the words in your original posting, but I didn't understand your point. As we all know, you should communicate to the level of your audience. Evidently, I am at a lower level and not elevated to your independent intellect, and I thank you for making it much clearer in your second posting. I guess you think we can't pull out of Iraq?...I agree, we must move forward....and then you seem to have an issue with Haliburton?..don't know why, they are a great part of our military industrial complex...who else would you like to see making that money? ...Russia?...France?...why not us...and my last comment, if we were doing all this for oil, why aren't we just taking the oil either for free or at a huge discount and telling Iraq/Iran/Saudi to piss up rope?

I didn't coin the term Neo Con, so don't take it out on me...I am not a Republican, I am an Independent. The reason everyone uses, for us getting Attacked, is our Foreign Policy. If you don't get my point, don't waste your time reading my comment. If all Conservatives are the same then why was there a split on the Amnesty Bill?

Haliburton operates or did operate, in Iran. I know this because I have a GE Bond, that shows the investment. There is Oil in Iraq and Iran. Haliburton has been operating inside of Iraq. Haliburton has moved it's headquarters to Quatar, Why? This is called Petrol Politics for a reason. I am saying our economy is based on this right now Oil because of our consumption and the only way to get out of Iraq is forward...we have to protect the Oil Supply. I don't think for one minute that the Countrys in the Middle East, like our Presence in Iraq- Our FootPrint, and who was pushing Iraqi Freedom, one was Paul Wolfowitz- referred to as a Neo Con. I just don't see that we have any choice in Iraq, the only option I see is forward. I was responding to post 3# who was also using the term Neo Con but you didn't respond to 3# using the term?

The Islamic terrorists, in this tape and in other ones, brag about defeating America everywhere: "in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Somalia and soon in Palestine."

So, are we going to be smart enough and confirm their threats and messages of "victory" by retreating, withdrawing, and surrendering?

The answer is: YES.

Because here in America and in Europe, there are people in government who believe that the only way to protect their homeland is by being nice, understanding, and sensitive to the terrorists (nations or groups), assuming that the Islamic terrorists (sorry, the "freedom fighters") will treat them well in return.

Treat them well in return...Ya Right!

I guess nobody's learning from History, even from very recent History...like a week ago?

So, let's do what you do best: Hide our heads in the sand and pray that no "freedom fighters" will blow our butts off.
