Lettucehead alert: Chertoff has a “gut feeling”

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 10, 2007 10:34 PM

Update: 7/11 11:15am: Chertoff forgot to share his tummy troubles with the White House, which denies there’s any emergency meeting about an increased threat of attack. Buffoonery: ” U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff had told the Chicago Tribune’s editorial board his “gut feeling” was that the United States faced an increased risk of attack this summer. [White House spokesman Tony] Fratto said he was not aware that Chertoff had made those feelings known to President George W. Bush.” Where is my Pepto-Bismol?

Update 7/11 8:24am: Martha Zoller asks, “Whose side is Chertoff on?”

Headline: “Respect Muslim American rights, Chertoff tells NAACP convention” (he spoke after visiting jihad-sympathizing Imam Husham al-Husainy’s mosque in Dearborn)

***
chertofflettuce.jpg Uh-oh. Department of Homeland InSecurity chief Michael Chertoff has a rumble in his tummy. He told the Chicago Tribune editorial board today that he had a “gut feeling” about a new period of increased risk of a terrorist attack. He reportedly based his assessment on earlier patterns of terrorists in Europe and intelligence he would not disclose–and told the paper that “Summertime seems to be appealing to them…We worry that they are rebuilding their activities.”

Maybe if he hadn’t spent so much time, energy, and capital lobbying for the open borders agenda of Big Business and Big Agribusiness, I’d put more faith in Chertoff’s concerns–and in his ability to do anything about them. ABC News reports that the White House has convened an “urgent” meeting for Thursday to deal with the “new threat” (you know, same as the old national security threats that got ignored during the shamnesty debacle):

Top intelligence and law enforcement officials have been told to assemble in the Situation Room to report on:

–what steps can be taken to minimize or counter the threat,

–and what steps are being taken to harden security for government buildings and personnel.

Hey! How about that $4.4 billion emergency border security funding package the White House dangled to try and buy off shamnesty votes? How about that, Secretary Chertoff?

***

I’m not the only hardened cynic. Kathryn Lopez writes: “After the Immigration Debate, Excuse Me for Not Trusting This Man’s Gut.”

Ideas have consequences. The consequence of Chertoff and the White House’s full-throttled push for shamnesty? Severely damaged and diminished credibility at a critical point in the war on terror overseas…and at home.

Strange how nearly everyone in the U.S. has a “gut feeling” that we should secure the southern border to keep terrorists from crossing it–except for him. And now he has a “gut feeling” that we may be attacked this summer? He sounds very confused and doesn’t make me feel secure at all.

What would AQ have to gain by attacking now? I guess they figure it would put a fork in the Republican Party, and the Dems would be easier to deal with later.

Bush is dead, politically. He will spend the next year reaping the rewards of his cocksure “policy” initiatives, as outlined by the maniacally dumb Rove. All I can hope is for a real small government, warlike on defense Republican to emerge. Is it even possible to hope, or are we too emasculated as a country?

No, here is what is irresponsible:

Senior U.S. intelligence officials tell ABC News new intelligence suggests a small al Qaeda cell is on its way to the United States, or may already be here.

Chertoff doesn’t believe we should secure our southern border and has done nothing about doing it. It could be very likely, if here, that this Al Qaeda cell discussed in the ABC story entered through our southern border. Of course, Chertoff is not for a fence. When are you people going to wake up?

He also knows, what apparently you do not that lettuce is a wonder plant.

Someday soon a cure for cancer will be found from an extract from lettuce.

Someday soon highly fermented lettuce will power all our cars.

Someday soon lettuce reactor plants will provide all of our electricity.

A derivative from lettuce may even hold the cure for old age!!!

And the thing is Michelle only hard working Amigos from the south know how to pick lettuce in just the right and loving way to keep it from losing all of these magical properties.

Have you hugged a head of lettuce today?

Have you sent Secretary Chertoff a nice card letting him know just how much you appreciate him?

What does this tell us about the Department of Homeland Security? Can they not develop the information or relationships for a more credible report?

If they cannot develop actionable intellegence, and cannot secure the nation with the $4.4 billion fence and other efforts, and cannot enforce the laws currently on the books, then I ask:

What the hell did we get for our $40 billion 2006 budget, and what the hell are we going to get for our $42 billion 2007 budget?

If you ask me, I’d refactor this ENTIRE BUDGET to agencies that are getting it done, like DOJ and DoD, and fold those Bureaus like BICE (aka ICE) into an enforcement agency or Coast Guard in to a Defense agency.

al-Qaeda will attack again and it will be just what they said it will be: spectacular. In the attack, 7 US cities will be nuked. And the US government has prepared to be complicit in those attacks by its do-nothing posture on open borders. The purpose for allowing the attacks is to provide a necessary socio-economic collaps of the US in order to force the population to become one entity with Canada and Mexico as a trading union a la the European Union. Globalists have gutted the economy and run up the US national debt to successfully liquidate the US as a sovereign nation. It will continue to be a military power but not to serve the Constitution or the USA: the US military will be a martial power that continue to serve globalist agendas the world over (namely protecting oil pipelines in the Middle East and Caspian Sea regions).

The game is over and it ended with the election of William Jefferson Clinton who sold our top military secrets to the Chinese and finished the trade policy work needed to push NAFTA through while everybody contemplated his Monica Lewinsky Money Shots.

The “War on Terror” is merely the coup d grace that has drawn out the Muslim infestations around the world to act out their violent essence and scare the American population with nuclear attacks. Following the nuking with dirty bombs, the American people will “do whatever is necessary” to end Islam. And it will be destroyed: the nuking of American cities will end the Left in this country— and the real carnage will begin.

Israel will decimate Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt (again). Iran will be destroyed utterly. Mass civilian casualties will be the norm. Weapons of mass destruction (carrier battle groups that can wipe out population centers) will see to it. Boots on the ground will play a clean up role after years of police action.

The rope a dope policy of Rumsfeld et al will end as a necessary provocation of the American people to “do whatever it takes” to end Islam.

The USG was clear when 911 happened: World War 3 has begun.

Michael Chertoff is the perfect do-nothing bureaucrat for the role of “lid sitter” until the population can be mobilized for a full-on war footing.

People thought 911 was the Pearl Harbor of our age. It was not. The American “Hiroshima” will be.

Strap your hats on and hold onto your butts.

Israel is the key indicator of when and where.

This is not a conspiracy theory: it is one man’s opinion based on historical precedent and the habits of Western societies in the preparation for all out war.
