Wow, a lib being booted off Kos is remarkable. It shows that Kos's self-serving repression of free speech extends across political lines.

Wow, no one is talking about the two really important aspects of this story (in my humble opinion, of course):

1. This is a perfect example of Democrats idea of a fair and balanced discussion and another example of the mindset behind the fairness doctorine. While Mike B, the local nutroot tin-foil-hat poster on this board is allowed to go on and on, wasting valueable bandwidth which argueably should be for conservatives in a world in which the left otherwise outnumbers the right in the media 10 - 1, Sheehan is kicked off that Democrat board for not walking in lockstep with the crowd. Disagreement = abandonment in the world of liberals.

2. Here's the fun stuff: Independant candidate Sheehan will bleed off many, many votes from Dim Pelosi. Wouldn't it be wonderful, magnificent irony if Sheehan, darling of the kill-your- fetus-but-surrender-to-murderers crowd, caused liberal leadership wonk Pelsoi to lose to a Republican by splitting the vote in one of the most liberal places on earth?!

Ah! How nice!

MikeB,

The nicest thing I can say about you is that you are a fool.

You appear to not understand a thing about the war in Iraq against Al Qaeda.

Regardless of how and why got into Iraq, the fact is, Iraq is where we are directly fighting Al Qaeda right now.

Not only is Iraq is the main battlefield where we are fighting Al Qaeda, it is the battlefield of choice for Al Qaeda as well. Al-Zawahiri says so, and so does bin Laden. Just last week, Zawahiri pointedly noted that Iraq is the gateway for Caliphate.

Let me restate it even more clearly and directly: We are fighting Al Qaeda, the people who attacked us on 9/11/01, ON THE BATTLE FIELD OF OUR CHOICE and that battlefield is Iraq. Both the DNI and the CIA have said that if we beat them in Iraq, we seriously damage or destroy the entire Jihadist movement, worldwide.

Zawahiri seems to agree.

In other words, Iraq is the place where we draw, fix, and destroy our main enemy, Al Qaeda.

Now given this, immediate withdrawal means the Al Qaeda wins. Winning is, of course, what Al Qaeda wants to accomplish.

So, the question I hve for you is why do YOU want to give Al Qaeda what they want? Why do YOU want Al Qaeda to win?

By the way, I'm the father of a US Marine who is also an Iraq war veteran.

Terrig,

I do not necessarily believe that U.S. troops should go to Darfur, but some troops--like a pan-African force--is necessary. On the other hand, I don't think it would be too difficult to end genocide in Darfur. We did end it in Bosnia with just air strikes and very little loss of life. Obviously, Iraq is a much more complicated and deadly proposition.

I just think it is hypocritical that when conservatives argue against leaving Iraq on the ground that genocide will result are hypocritical. MM loves to show liberal hypocracy, but it works both ways.

I agree with you that most troops are apolitical as they should be.

MkeyB, I have to live with someone who like others in this class he is in (they are doing some training) are very depressed and just plain fed up with the cut and run crowd. I was in myself and ran into about 10-15% of the people who were Democratic liberals and they always saw something wrong with how things were done. However, for the most part everyone is non-political but as a whole don't trust the Democrats for anyting positive.
Why don't you sign up yourself or beg George Clooney and all the others in hollywood who want us to go to Darfur to come up with your own "foreign legion" and do it yourself. Those of you who can't wait to send our men and women to Darfur yet don't want us in Iraq don't get it. If they're fatigued now why won't they be if they're sent immediately to Darfur? Answer me that? Why are we still in Bosnia & Kosovo? We still send people there as well.

Terriq and Rick, Thank you for weighing in. First, I do have someone close to me in Iraq, my first cousin Gene is in Anbar. I have spoken to him numerous times and he is a liberal, Democrat as was Pat Tillman, a genuine hero (as was George McGovern, for that matter), as are several people in his squad. Not all military people share MM's beliefs sorry to disappoint you. Being a good American doesn't mean being endorsing the illegal, immoral, and unconstitutional actions of the Bush Administration.

I agree that some leftists out there are annoying and arrogant, etc. as are some rightists. My point is that focusing on Cindy Sheehan's statements is not important and a distraction. I never appointed her my spokesman, just as blacks didn't appoint Al Sharpton and evangelists didn't appoint Rev. Pat Robertson.

And yes, I favor immediate withdrawal of all our troops. The "experts" who say otherwise cannot be trusted. The same "experts" said Iraq would be a cakewalk and we'd be greated as liberators. The same experts who ignored the fact that as a result of our involvement there is more terrorism now than before (Howard Dean is correct) and the world is less safe than it was before.

And, if you rightists fear genocide in Iraq and that's important, why don't you do something about the real genocide in Darfur?

MikeB, you're the moral authority around here I see. May I ask your superiour highness if you have anyone close to you who has been to Iraq? See, my husband doesn't mind going back for a fourth time which he's slated to do this time next year if it means finishing this job so our two year old son won't have to do it. Do you have "war fatigue"? If so, how in God's name are you sufferring? Perhaps you missed the sideshow for the past two years where she was given absolute moral authority by those who now mock her. But being a part of the morally superior group yourself you don't see it. It's really annoying for those of you on the left who call those who go to war "great Americans". The cadre of military people I know really, really, really despise the left, the anti-war crowd-both Republican and Democrat and wish you'd all sit at in your eco-friendly homes and shut up about how much you love this cournty and that you're dissent is the highest form of patriotism. Lugar is another who like Reid is hanging the troops out to dry. Good day morally superiour one, our hats are off to you!

Mike B:

I find the statement "push to get out of Iraq now" confusing.

Just exactly what do you mean? If you mean withdraw all American troops from Iraq immediately, your advice is flying in the face of every civilian and military expert - including people like General Odom who want our troops out but not withdrawn willy nilly as you seem to advise.

As far as the middle class is concerned, you may be surprised to learn that while around 2 million Iraqis have indeed fled the country, economic activity is perking along nicely, thank you. Business creation in Iraq is at unparalled levels. So even if many in the middle class have fled, they are being replaced and augmented by a new class of entreprenurs.

My own view is that Lugar and Domenici are right. The American military has done all it can. From this point on, security should be an Iraqi concern. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't maintain a substantial presence there - help guard the border, go after al-Qaeda, and act as a humanitarian force if, as expected, the Shias start going after the Sunnis with a vengance.

The Democratic plan - one I suppose you support - would bring all the troops home with no regard for the future of Iraq. This is suicide and has been ridiculed by most responsible critics of the war who wish to see a change in mission but not that kind of "cut and run" strategy implemented.

But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t maintain a substantial presence there – help guard the border, go after al-Qaeda, and act as a humanitarian force if, as expected, the Shias start going after the Sunnis with a vengance.

The Democratic plan – one I suppose you support – would bring all the troops home with no regard for the future of Iraq. This is suicide and has been ridiculed by most responsible critics of the war who wish to see a change in mission but not that kind of “cut and run” strategy implemented.

Once again, MM and all of you don't get it. Who cares about the trials and tribulations of Cindy Sheehan? This is a sideshow and irrelevant.

What should be discussed is the fact that great Americans, like her son, are dying every day and for what? Does anyone out there really believe Iraq wants to be a Jeffersonian Democracy? News flash: The entire middle class in Iraq have left the country. The Iraqi government is showing no interest in creating a stable democracy.

It is time that you wingnuts join smart Republicans like Sens. Warner, Lugar, Alexander and push to get out of Iraq NOW.

A minor clarification on the caption for the photo that accompanies this post. You referred to this as a "blue on blue" confrontation. "Blue on blue" is reserved for FRIENDLY fire, when people on your side are shooting at each other, either deliberately or by mistake. When the opposition does that, it's called "red on red." And in this case, the color "red" matches the ideology of KOS and Sheehan. Personally, I think it is great that these socialist, leftist, pricks cut each other up. The more they fight amongst themselves, the better place America will be.

So the battle between the howling monkeys that post at KOS and the Moonbat Queen, should be referred to a "red on red."
