Nifong: Disbarred

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 12, 2007 01:02 PM

It’s official:

The North Carolina State Bar on Thursday issued a formal order disbarring former district attorney Mike Nifong for his handling of the now-discredited Duke lacrosse rape case.

Nifong must surrender his law license to the bar no later than 30 days from when he is served with the order. He also must pay costs associated with his June ethics trial.

A disciplinary hearing committee decided to disbar Nifong after finding he had committed at least two dozen violations of the state’s rules of professional conduct. The violations included lying to the court and withholding DNA evidence that showed genetic material from several males – though none from a Duke lacrosse player – had been found on the accuser.

The indefatigable K.C. Johnson continues to hammer the Duke faculty witch hunt club.

Now it’s time for him to spend some time in prison (heck, even copious amounts of community service would be acceptable at this point) for his crimes.

He should also be brought up on criminal charges. What he did was deliberate and would have destroyed those Duke player’s lives! He belongs in prison!

Some of his buddies may go down with him too. I won’t mention names since I am from NC.

He would be a shoe-in in Louisiana. Surly they would elect him. Have you seen what they put in office? He would be a perfect match!

This won’t be over until the three victims recoup their legal fees; Nifong is sued to his last dime and every dime he makes for the next thirty years (about the amount of time the victims would have spent in prison); the gang of 88 is individually sued for everything they can be sued for, with severe financial penalties, and a very public apology, to the three victims.

I agree completely. Too many of these guys think that a J.D. degree elevates them above the law. Now how about “Judge” Roy Pearson?

New York State already has Eliot Spitzer as governor, a classic limousine liberal who was every bit as abusive and corrupt as Nifong when he was attorney general.
