Needless to say, the boss’s fans will not be surprised to find the left’s position on this issue highly nuanced. In fact, it actually came before the U.S. Senate last summer.
How worthless can Voinovich, Sununu, Snowe, Murkowski get? (Did I leave anyone out?)

Oh, yes, Brownback, who -- along with Obama -- has been missing in action a good deal lately.

So after McCaskill's surprising vote against Shamnesty, she goes right back to voting the party line. This is typical of her flip-flopping on illegal immigration. Even though she voted against Shamnesty, after speaking with one of her aides, her real reason for voting against Shamnesty was because it didn't allow ENOUGH illegals into the country.

As for Brownback, this has become a disturbing trend in KS. Two years ago when I was a 3rd year law student taking a legislation class with Prof. Kris Kobach, my final project was to draft a bill requiring government-issued ID to be presented to vote. (This was for KS) My team and I drafted our bill (incidentally, we got an "A" for our work), submitted it to the KS State Rep., and he presented it to the KS House. It was buried in committee and never brought forward again.

The most sacred right we have as US citizens is the right to vote. These cowardly politicians, at both the state and federal levels, are taking this sacred right and knowingly and willfully giving it to non-citizens. Where does this madness end? Do these elected officials have amnesty from enforcing the public will? We, as the rightful American voters, must hold our elected officials accountable and if these politicians do not enact legislation, then they must be voted out. It seems obvious that many of us are very frustrated with the US Congress but remember that your state congresses are equally culpable for the disintegration of our rights.

There can only be one reason that lawmakers voted against this bill: they wish to see massive voter fraud at the polls.

If they required photo ID here in Calif. it would take the vote away from the poor illegals and the Demoncraps would lose 1/3 of their base.

This is a bunch of bull as is the unconstitutional argument.

In Puerto Rico, your voter registration card has a picture of you on it. Very much like a driver's liscense and it is a valid id. Not only does it verify you are who you are, but it also prevents you from voting more than one since it gets punched. The card is renewed every two elections with a new picture.

There, so simple. How come our senators and representatives cannot come up with a directive to have all state generate voter registration id's???? After all, most of us register at the DMV who has already taken our picture. It would only require the DMV agent to verify that you are indeed a citizen.
