Impeach-a-palooza comes to Washington
Bumped…originally posted July 22, 2007 @ 22:37
St. Cindy Sheehan and her unhinged minions will descend on Arlington National Cemetery Monday morning for an impeachment parade that will end at John Conyers’ office doorstep. Similar protests are taking place in the offices of Rep. Howard Berman in California and Rep. Pete Visclosky in Indiana, and at Rep. Conyers’ district offices in Detroit, among others. This is no fringe movement. The nutroots machine has kicked into high gear. Far Lefty Bill Moyers joined the bandwagon with a one-hour PBS special on impeachment last week. Jimmy Breslin banged the impeachment drum in his Newsday column today. Sen. Russ Feingold is crusading for censure.
West Hollywood’s city council passed an impeachment resolution last week–”the 80th city or township in the nation to pass such a declaration, following similar actions in Michigan, Ohio and Vermont as well as six cities in Northern California, including Arcada and Eureka.” Telluride, Colorado approved one last week as well. There is an active ImpeachPAC and there is now something called a “National Impeachment Center” in L.A. And Conyers, via Weasel Zippers, says he just needs to gather three more congressional members and then he’ll move to impeach.
An After Downing Street blogger exults:
House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers has said that if three more Congress Members get behind impeachment he will start the impeachment proceedings.
I was a guest today on Bree Walker’s radio show. She’s the progressive radio host from California who purchased Cindy Sheehan’s land from her in Crawford, Texas.
Bree attended an event on Friday in San Diego at which Congressman Conyers spoke about impeachment. Her report was extremely interesting. I had already heard reports that Conyers had said: “What are we waiting for? Let’s take these two guys out!” But, of course, what we’re waiting for is John Conyers. Is he ready to act? It was hard to tell from that comment. In January, Conyers spoke at a huge rally on the National Mall and declared “We can fire them!” but later explained that what he meant was that we could wait for two years and Bush and Cheney’s terms would end. Was this week’s remark just more empty rhetoric?
It appears to be more than that. Bree Walker told me, on the air, that Conyers said that all he needs is three more Congress Members backing impeachment, and he’ll move on it, even without Pelosi. I asked whether that meant specifically moving from 14 cosponsors of H Res 333 to 17, or adding 3 to the larger number of Congress Members who have spoken favorably of impeachment but not all signed onto bills. Bree said she didn’t know and that Conyers had declined to take any questions.
Either way, this target of three more members seems perfectly doable. It’s safe to assume, I think, that we’re talking about impeaching Cheney first. But, even if Conyers is talking about Bush, the target is perfectly achievable.
Cindy Sheehan is going to make sure Conyers keeps his word. Her followers have pledged to park themselves at his office until he makes his impeachment plans official. Meanwhile, the moonbats are touting a possible congressional campaign announcement from Sheehan. More from After Downing Street:
Cindy Sheehan to Lead March for Impeachment, Arlington to Capitol Hill, July 23rd
Congressional Campaign Announcement Possible
WHAT: March from Arlington National Cemetery to the Capitol Hill Office of Congressman John Conyers to ask him to begin impeachment proceedings against Vice President Dick Cheney or President George W. Bush or both. Participants hope to meet with Congressman Conyers and receive his assurance that impeachment proceedings will begin at once in the House Judiciary Committee, which he chairs. Many of those participating have committed to only leave if Conyers agrees to begin impeachment or they are arrested.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been the driving force against impeachment in Congress. If there is no agreement to begin impeachment proceedings by Monday, Sheehan will announce her candidacy challenging Pelosi for election in California’s 8th Congressional District.
WHO: Cindy Sheehan, mother of Casey Sheehan, KIA in Iraq 2004, founder of Gold Star Families for Peace and of the Camp Casey Peace Institute; Ray McGovern, 27-year veteran of the CIA and cofounder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity; Rev. Lennox Yearwood, President of the Hip Hop Caucus; Ann Wright, retired U.S. Army Colonel and diplomat who resigned in protest the day the U.S. invaded Iraq; Debra Sweet, national coordinator of the World Can’t Wait; Dave Lindorff, author of “The Case for Impeachment,” David Swanson, cofounder of AfterDowningStreet.org; Jodie Evans and Medea Benjamin, both cofounders of Code Pink; Kevin Zeese, director of Democracy Rising; Tina Richards, military mother and creator of GrassRootsAmerica4Us; and many many others.
WHEN AND WHERE:
10:00 a.m. gathering outside the Arlington National Cemetery metro stop. Cindy Sheehan will make remarks.
10:30 a.m. beginning march to Capitol Hill, to 2426 Rayburn House Office Building, office of Chairman John Conyers.
12:00 p.m. noon – approximate arrival time.“We have the deepest respect for Chairman John Conyers,” Sheehan said, “and I’m glad he’s the one who will lead the impeachment hearings. But time is wasting and people are dying every day that he holds off. The majority of Americans want Dick Cheney impeached. We are bringing that message to the chairman of the judiciary committee of our house of representatives. It is our house, the house of American citizens, and any representatives currently serving there who disagree should be challenged in the next election.”
Freepers plan to be at Arlington to counter-protest. But what about the Republican Party? The BDS-ers are not going away. They’ve been emboldened by the White House’s reticence. And the Beltway Republicans’ idiotic dissing of its own base has weakened its ability to unite the Right when the president needs a strong defense. The GOP needs to do more than just remind Americans of Nancy Pelosi’s 60 Minutes pledge (”Impeachment is off the table…it’s a pledge. Of course it is. It is a waste of time…”). It needs to launch an aggressive counter-attack exposing the shadow party behind the Democrat Party.
Look at these people. Look. At. Them:
These people mean business. They’re organized, energized, and relentless. They have substantial public support, funding, and legal/academic infrastructure. Does the GOP plan to rely on Nancy Pelosi to fend these impeachment hounds off? If so, they vastly underestimate the nutroots’ zeal–and Pelosi’s fecklessness.

FIRST!
These people need to get a job.
Good warning, Michelle. This is serious. However, perhaps I am dreaming, but I think I MAY see a silver lining in this. IF the nutroots can show the American public JUST HOW NUTS they really are, then there just MAY BE a backlash against them come September 08. Nonetheless, you are correct that we need to galvanize the right to meet this rabid juggernaut from the left. P.S. Conyers is less than admirable to me, to understate the matter.
Cindy Sheehan’s secret MySpace entry:
Hi there fellow bloggers. My name is Cindy Sheehan. You can just call me Peace Mom if you want. Or you can call me Saint Cindy, if you insists and I hope that you do. I was born on July 10, 1957, although people tell me that I don’t look my age. In fact most say not even close.
My heroes are Kim Jong Il, Ramsey Clark, Jimmy Carter,
Mahmoud Ahmadinejadin and Hugo Chavez, in fact I have a big crush on him.
I am very witty and am an expert diplomatic ambassador. I am also a frequent guest at Crawford, TX. I am also very influential in Congress and some of them have even made me an honorary member. I honestly don’t know how some of them would function without me. Intelligent and multi-talented. Of course. Was there any doubt?
I am in a new relationship and completely in love. His name is Hugo Chavez, maybe you know him? I love attention. I would like to think that I would try almost anything at least once. Naturally, it depends on the situation.
I would like to think that I am open minded, honest, polite, and trustworthy, or at least that I can fool other people into thinking that I am once in a while. And I appreciate the same qualities in others.
Did I mention that I adore my new boyfriend Hugo Chavez? Yes, I LOVE HIM! Because of the long distance involved we have not been able to consummate our relationship yet, but we do have a lot of hot and steamy E-mail sex! I am now divorced and my son whats his name is long gone so I am as free as a bird!
Who I’d like to meet:
…other psyhco bloggers. People who like to peace out. Cool people who live close to Saint Elizabeth’s in Washington D.C., because I understand that is where I will be moved to before long.
Feralcat–thats falling down drunk funny!!!!
This impeachemnt thing is gonna get huge, and coincide with the election. I believe this is the grand plan for the mainstream nutroots. They want to have an impeachment hearing going on the same time the election is on. You herd it here first. The guerilla has spoken. Carry on the plan of the day.
Most of these libs on the loose need to realize that just because you can start a boulder rolling down hill; there’s not one guarantee in this world where that boulder is going to end up or whom it will smash along the way.
To accomplish impeachment, official oath taking procceedings have to occur.
That means all sorts of horribly embarrassing facts and figures come to light.
Act with shallow abandon and pay with deep regret.
Impeachment is serious business, and should not be used as the nutroots desire, for political payback. However, imagine all the money that the Loony Left will spend on this silliness. It’s therefore heads we win, tails they lose.
Another poll shows a majority of Democrats and 40% of independents now favor impeachment.
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/39_favor_impeaching_bush
Did the respondents understand that in order for someone to be impeached, there first has to be evidence of a crime?
Are you kidding? That’s all these people have! They’ll cling to anything but reality!
They really do need jobs, but with their mentality, they are hard to come by.
Never in my 44 yrs, have I seen the absolute hatred of an American. I’m glad these morons are showing themselves. In a way, I think it’s good for right now that there are two America’s, and we see just what these people will do to get power.
Just disgusting
I don’t see what’s so wrong with having a far-left that wants to impeach Bush. Let’s be honest. Bush has done some things that may have not have been legal. The wiretaps, the indefinite detention of American citizens, torture. Not to mention the invasion of another country using faulty intelligence. We can go back and forth on whether these things were right or necessary or legal. But plenty of sound minds have issues with many of Bush’s policies. People who think Bush acted illegally have every reason to want Bush impeached.
If impeachment bothers you so much blame the Republicans. Their crazy Whitewater witchhunt led to the first impeachment of an American president in 130 years. The GOP turned “impeachment” from a last resort into a political tool.
I’m a liberal who has many, many problems with the current administration. Legally, Bush probably deserves to be impeached. However the far-left is making the same mistakes as the 1990s GOP. Impeachment should be reserved for the worst of the worst. Instead of focusing on impeachment they should be focused on 2008. And then these nitwits will probably vote for Nader and prolong my suffering for another four years.
Hatred is eating their tiny little brain’s away.
This is so entirely unhinged that it reminds me of a joke:
Knock knock.
Who’s there?
“Surrealist”.
Surrealist who?
“To get to the other side.”
What on earth is going on here? I saw Moyers’ site and he claims the absurd statistic that something like 50% of Americans want to see Bush impeached. You know what he, himself, based that on? The unhappiness of the electorate. That’s right. We’re just so darn unhappy with Bush it seems that he simply must have done something illegal. Someone hand Moyers his pacifier and blue blankey.
I absolutely agree with Runningonfumes that this has serious blacklash possibilities, only with one very big caveat: for there to be a backlash, it has to be honestly reported by the MSM.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I sense an enormous insecurity by the left about the ‘08 election; let all the illegal aliens vote (sorta), shut down the only voice the right wing has in the MSM, making hay with their sleepover pajama party and now this. In legal parlance such behavior almost qualifies as mens rea, meaning “of a guilty mind” - you know, people who can run on the issues don’t need to gamble their reputations on this silly, Waiting-For-Godot-style nonsense, and wouldn’t if they felt that their viewpoints were generally acceptable to the masses.
What a year this is becoming! Sheesh! I don’t remember anything like it!
would love to know what sheehan’s son would have about this

That’s easy.
Casey: You all do know know that I was adopted, I hope?
In a word, the answer to your question is, “No.”
Take a look at Rusty’s comment above. Parroting canards about “wiretapping” (sorry, that’s never what it was, but don’t let accuracy get in the way), “torture” (again, not knowing what “torture” really means), “faulty intelligence” (since when did that constitute a crime?).
Eventually, Rusty gets around to indirectly stating what it is that gets the moonbats “of sound mind” chanting, “Impeach!” — “Issues” with Bush’s “policies.” If you disagree with the lefties, that’s a crime, or it outta be in their minds.
But Rusty hits the nail squarely when he recognizes that if the donks do try impeachment, the result will be a backlash against them and not the administration. Which is why I’m really hoping they go for it.
The Republicans are too disorganized and too bumbling to take back congress on their own, but it the donks want to point a pistol at their own heads and pull the trigger …. please. Make my day.
I will say this one time, through clenched teeth…and I will scream it slowly at every disgusting human being I meet holding a Bush = Hitler sign…
HITLER…TRIED…TO…KILL…MY…DAD!!!
As I said yesterday, until they prove otherwise, Moveon, Kos, and Huffington Post are the Axis of Antisemitism.

Ms. Malkin, continue verbally clubbing these people over their empty skulls so that my Holocaust surviving father can enjoy his golden years free of such hate speech.
America defeated Hitler and Stalin. We can surely defeat the Axis of Antisemitism.

All this political nonsense by Cindy and the delusional crowd who worship her really p!$$ me off, but why do they need to start at Arlington Cemetery? That’s just a lack of respect.
Wow, Bush is Hitler? Yawn… that is so 2003.
I have to wonder why all these nutroots are still living in this country. Didn’t they all vow to move to Canada if President Bush was re-elected 2004?
I find it difficult to believe even 10% of America will support an impeachment. This is simply another case of the ‘hate’ crowd pushing an unpopular agenda.
President Bush has not broken any laws. Clinton did. He lied under oath, forced others to lie under oath and, as the chief law enforcement officer of this country, used the power and influence of his office to deny a citizen her constitutional right to a day in court.
The liberal media sold the public on the idea that the impeachment was just about sex. No, it was about a lot more.
The liberal media will without a doubt support the nutroots and do their best to convince every moron that will listen to their propaganda than an impeachment has merit. However, an impeachment attempt will fail and fail miserably for those that try to push it. Hate will only push the train so far. But, you cannot convict a person a crime in this country with hate and clueless unfounded accusations.
Hopefully, this will be the train wreck that finally de-rails some of these loud mouthed haters like Moyer and expose them for the nutroots they really are
I’d go for obstruction of justice in thwarting enforcement of immigration laws.
This administration seems to violate the spirit of laws in an un-American way by interpreting them to the limit of elasticity in the manner of bottom feeding lawyers who excel in finding loopholes.
Ms. Malkin,
You and I both blog on Wordpress. The following Wordpress blog contains much Antisemitism.
http://southernvoice.wordpress.com/
It is awful stuff. Can Wordpress remove them? I understand the blogosphere is about free speech, but does anybody have the right to blog on Wordpress?
I would think it would be no different than your site, where if I made comments out of the bounds of decency, you would have every right to remove me.
Are you, me and this other blogger just guests of Wordpress? If so, I hope when you have time you will check out the site, and see if it can get kicked off Wordpress.
I know how busy you are, but fighting hatred is important. If you feel what I am suggesting is pointless in terms of not being the best approach, I understand. You know more about how to fight back based on your experience in the blogosphere.
Respectfully,
eric
I’m not sure Pelosi is feckless. I think she’s perfectly willing to let impeachment move forward, but for obvious reasons (succession), she can’t come out publicly. As soon as she made her anti-impeachment announcement, I was sure that she would wait until others got the ball rolling, put up some symbolic opposition, but - in the end - say “Well, I’m not in favor of this, but the American people have made their choice, and I yada yada…”
Although she may well worry about the political fallout, I suspect she betting on it being a wash.
Alberto Gansalves (AG Mexico) was busy this weekend. He could find no law that protected an American graveyard. If it had Hispanic iternments that were a hundred years old, he would have had the entire Federal Government in there beating the demonstrators.
Well, if ya didn’t know yet, add this similar story to the idiocy, too, quoting the always-happy-to-oblige-the-left AP:
Feingold, a prominent war critic, said he soon plans to offer two censure resolutions - measures that would amount to a formal condemnation of the Republican president.
The first would seek to reprimand Bush for, as Feingold described it, getting the nation into war without adequate military preparation and for issuing misleading public statements. The resolution also would cite Vice President Dick Cheney and perhaps other administration officials.
The second measure would seek to censure Bush for what the Democrat called a continuous assault against the rule of law through such efforts as the warrantless surveillance program against suspected terrorists, Feingold said. It would also ask for a reprimand of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and maybe others.
“This is an opportunity for people to say, let’s at least reflect on the record that something terrible has happened here,” said Feingold, D-Wis. “This administration has weakened America in a way that is frightful.”
Re that last sentence, funny how he never mentions immigration, which is where Bush has really weakened America in a frightful way.
I also like the “issuing misleading public statements” part. I wonder if they’ll go for fair and balanced coverage and do the same for Clinton, Reid and Pelosi who haven’t issued an entirely honest statement in 18 months. You know, there must be a memo floating around Washington to the Dems detailing this strategy of making public hay big-time as an election tactic. The surest way to derail all this and watch it backfire is if someone could find that little piece of paper. (I’ve always been amazed that people put these kinds of things in writing, but they always do)
This is — incredible. What must our enemies be thinking. People out to murder me and my family and millions of others wholesale once they’ve the means, who see our efforts — indeed our very desire to protect ourselves undermined by such drooling partisan hatred of a man and bipartisan endorsed policies. Hang Bush for what — for the deaths of servicepeople bottling up terrorists over there? Our servicemen and women are not babies in diapers. They are adult professionals who know they didn’t sign up for Disneyland. They know the score. They’ve seen the face of the enemy. They know their intentions. They know their potential. That’s why the media and Sheehan and Company can’t look for support from the very people they are trying to “protect” (like babies from the big bad wolf) from harm’s way — which they volunteered to do. Think America! Whatever errors the Bush Administration has made pales next to taking actions that have prevented terrible attacks. Forget partisanship here! Forget evening up old sores! Do you want the mentalities of Sheehan and Moyers and the media in charge of protecting your families? My God! Will it take an Iranian nuke slipped under the table to terrorists detonated in New York or Seattle or Dallas to jolt us out of this hate frenzy? It’s no skin off the media’s nose if Brooklyn is vaporized — like, they don’t have the responsibility of seeing it doesn’t happen, right? Think! Think! If you truly love your families for the love of God, Think!

You know when we can stand up to these impeachment-crying, socialist-believing, Bush-hating, flag-burning scumbags? At the next Gathering of Eagles on September 15th. Patriots will once again stand against ANSWER and make our voices heard.
To borrow the title of your book, this shadow democrap party is totally Unhinged.
Think about this, how far can a party progress if it is based solely on hate?
“Bring it on!” — GW Bush
Impeach! They took us to war and then stood back and let the soldiers and civilians die while they fiddle. Perhap the weakest pair of men ever elected to the post. I can’t believe I have aligned myself with the wack jobs on the left …..
Any impeachment drive will fail. Several reasons why: They don’t have the votes in the Senate, first of all. Second, it’s not clear that they have enough votes to pass an impeachment resolution in the House.
The resulting damage to the Democratic Party because of the pressure by the “organized, energized, and relentless” hate shouters could cost them control of BOTH houses and the Presidency in 2008. Pelosi and Reid know this.
A number of “bluedog” Democrats, elected from nominally red districts will be under very serious pressure to vote no, first from Pelosi, then from the same kind of activism that led to the defeat of shamnesty. If they vote for impeachment in 2007, they will face defeat in 2008. And that will be the end of Pelosi’s and Reid’s reign as running Congress.
And then, when these “organized, energized, and relentless” morons decide to take to the streets and attempt to do by putsch what they couldn’t do in Congress, I hope they remember that THEIR SIDE BELIEVES IN GUN CONTROL. And ours doesn’t. I almost hope they try…
Michelle, I do not share your worry. This only helps the republicans. The evidence of the “same old same old” will help us immensely with the moderate independent voters. Let the left show their hatred for all things GW in public. Most americans do not like to see hatred 24/7. Oh, yeah! Most of the senate voted for this war so they would have to recuse themselves and then you have no quorum. ww
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again … the only way these idiots will ever pay attention to the facts about all of this is when they get hit personally with terrorism … until then there is no such thing as terrorism in their book of idiotic ideas … guess when one of those beheading videos is shown and the victim is one of their own relatives they will finally get the idea this is a real war …
Mr_Conservative_Cat
Because of the way they are scheduled where I live I am able watch ALL of the Sunday Morning New shows one right after the other and I almost lost a TV when Feingold was spewing this trash … fortunately the only thing within reach was made of plastic … so when it hit it did no harm …
As for the statements he made:
I can’t remember anywhere in history that any country went to war with adequate military preparation … based on that premise the entire Congress should not have declared war on Japan after Pearl Harbor … fleet was in a shambles and we were definitely without adequate military preparation …
I guess the entire UN situation never happened … the entire world was after Saddam because of the belief he still had WMD … not just the USA .. and he was laughing in the face of the UN and its phony sanctions (e.g. Oil For Food) … also the planes he was shooting at in the so-called No-Fly Zone said USA on the side … not UN … so if you push this one you need to go after the entire UN (Useless Nincompoops) for the same reasons …
Guess he missed the memo … as if that is anything new … the program was designed to track known terrorist phone numbers and the calls they made and received … it worked quite well until the Al Qaeda Times made it public … Russ must have had to stop taking calls from CAIR …
I AGREE … but not with the cause … the record that needs to be reflected upon is the entire Do-Nothing Congress … that is where the real frightful weakening of America has happened … not at the White House
OK DL … get off your soap box now … Sorry Folks … still steamed on this one …
I agree with Impeachment, only if before the impeachment process begins, Bush and Chaney actually get to do all the things that they are accused of doing.
Liberalism is a disease, and the only cure is death.
I hope they press ahead. Nothing would make them look more vindictive and brainless than to try an impeachment. It’s the perfect way to regain control of Congress.
lol, Shipping desertlover protective covers for his TV’s…
Michelle, I need help. I had a discussion about politics with my father and brother. Both are life long Democrats. I couldn’t even have an intelligent conversation with them because all they kept repeating was “Bush should be impeached”. When I asked them why, all they could say was that “Bush is an idiot.” They didn’t want to hear facts or anything that resembled the truth. They were just repeating exactly what the MSM has been spewing. It was eerie. I’d appreciate any suggestion you may have on how to get through to them before they are too far gone and start barking at the moon while wearing tin foil hats. Thanks and keep up the great work.

Thanks … don’t know what came over me … guess it was bound to happen eventually …
The Dems have BDS …
Guess I came down with DBSS …
DEMO-CRAP BULL S**T SYNDROME …
Investigate not legislate. Is this what congress has become?
YEP … that describes this congress perfectly …
If Steinbeck were writing about them he would call his book The Sour Grapes of Wrath
I can’t believe that people didn’t see this coming after all the continued references to the 2000 elections … it was inevitable … even if they had regained control AFTER BUSH LEFT OFFICE …
Everyone needs to remember that John Conyers is a closet supporter of terrorists. He voted against the “John Doe” ammendment, and also praised the Detroit city council when they just recently voted to make Detroit a sanctuary city.
It seems Rusty #9 is using a blog name that describes his thinking processes. Liberalism has to be the result of a pathology that creates chemical changes affecting cognitive abilities. He reflects the pathos that is behind these pawns holding these signs, swallowing the 9/11 conspiracy theory, “faulty intelligence” as a crime, etc. A chimpanze could discern better the events of 9/11 than this growing number of socially challenged misfits.
I share Michelle’s concern about them but only as viewing them on the same level as sexual predators stalking young innocent children. They need to be removed from society with dispatch before irreparable harm comes to our still young republic.
Geez, you mean you guy’s don’t believe invisable secret Ninja’s swooped in at ground zero, planted charges in Tower 7, snuck out and blamed it on Al Quida? There’s no hope for you! lmao
Of course this impeachment call is a political tool for the coming elections. The two parties have succeeded in brainwashing the electorate into warring against personalities. Bush/Clinton haters fall into the trap in attacking/defending what are incompetent people and policies that are designed to destroy our country. Sure Bush along with Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush and most of Congress should be impeached for the deliberate failure to enforce our borders while under attack by illegals, allowing China to obtain military secrets and technology, the trade policies that have flooded our country with dangerous and inferior products and are destroying our economic base and the (hopefully not) inevitable march to erase our borders and create a North American Union. Yet the hatred will cloud rational thought and encourage voting without examination.
Americans need to realize we have to take a new direction: back to the basics of our country and Constitution. Its not a throw them all out action that is needed; its a throw them all out who are not passing rational legislation and ensuring current laws are enforced. We do have some representation that is out front and not waiting for the political wind before expressing their positions. Unless we analyze our representation we will be saddled with Bush/Clinton III, IV, ad nauseum. None of the democrats or the current “top tier” republicans pass the smell test of independence we desperately need.
Job? It’s summer; all the teachers are off on vacation…in D.C., I guess.
BUSH SHOULD BE IMPEACHED!
If Clinton was impeached for lying about sex with an intern, Bush lies (1)about WMD that got us intangled into a misbegotten civil war in Iraq; (2) Violated the 4th Amendment by tapping phones of US citizens and violated FISA; (3) Issued signing statements stating he does not have to enforce laws he disagrees with; and (4) politicizing the Dept. of Justice.
uh oh, la la land time.
Impeachment on the grounds stated will be a welcome re-hash of PlameGate, the UN and Saddam’s WMD’s, the legislative path taken to war (involves the specific votes of the House and Senate- and some key Democratic “Presidential” candidates), the seditious behavior of the New York Times, the Associated Press, and other “trusted” news bureaus, the presence of Hamas and Hezbollah elements (known by name and address) in Rep. Con-Yer-Mama’s district up in Michigistan, Harry Reid’s “Wacky Real Estate World”, Pelosi’s illegal immigrant haven in Napa and LA, Mrs. Clinton’s knowledge of Hubby Bubba’s “Look No Hands!” Al-Qaeda policies prior to 9/11, Clinton Complicity with the attack on the USS Cole, Pelosi’s unauthorized trip to Shamascus, and the list goes on…..
all of these would have to be revisited in some detail to draw up the articles of impeachement, then be reviewed by opposing counsel (the President’s legal resources are vast and sophisticated). That little ping pong match would take more than 6 months….so let’s do the math….it’s August for all intents and purposes…so Sept-Dec (4 mos), Jan-Feb (oops SUPER PRIMARY MONTH) = 6 months…DOH! maybe somebody in Congress would be paying attention in the lead up to Super February…..so let’s add six more months as the banner is taken up AGAIN after the Democrats figure out if they are going to serve up Hildo or Hussein Obama…..DOH! that leads up to August 08…one year from now…..DOH! just 5 months to get that sludge pile moving through the House….and maybe, just maybe….there would be a straw vote before winter recess….DOH! inauguration is in January 09….. the NutRoots crowd will be running over Mother SheBiscuit and her SnowMan in total rage at not getting back the White House in 08.
I have to believe that these people can’t really believe that Bush was behind 9/11. I have to believe that they are just using this hot button issue to oust Republicans so that they can advance their social policies. I’m pretty sure that’s what it all boils down to. If they had their gay marriage, universal health care, welfare for all and only the rich were taxed, they wouldn’t be so upset about Iraq because deep down even the dumbest liberal knows they would need the military to enjoy the things I just mentioned.
New York City, Northern Virginia, and Boston -the areas hit hardest by 9/11- are some of the most liberal parts of the country. They understand the threat of terrorism as well as any other red-blooded American. America was hit by 9/11. Not Red State America. And not Blue State America. All Americans.
Alright, buddy. I have a problem with you. If you can find one instance where I’ve supported some wacky 9/11 conspiracy theory I’ll give you a thousand dollars. Do not put words in my mouth. Dishonest discourse will get you nowhere.
And how dare you use my blog name (why i hate dc) to call me a chemically imbalanced social misfit. Hating DC is a sentiment that I’d venture a good number of MM readers share.
Your comments betray you as a hypocrite, sir. You call me all sorts of names for using the word “hate” when it’s clear that you hate anyone who disagrees with you. Instead of respecting opposing opinions, you call your opposition sub-human. I’m a liberal, but I’m careful to respect the opinions of my conservative friends and family. Please show me the same respect.
All this and I said the movement to impeach Bush was nonsense! Imagine if I actually disagreed with you!
gregorystephens
All you say is correct … but then they would just find something else to replace them with so they could continue their Bash Bush Agenda …
Rusty
My problem is not with the good people of NYC, NoVa, DC, PA, nor Boston or any other rational citizen of this country … my complaint is with the people in Congress that are in such a state of denial …
I don’t consider the GWOT a “bumper sticker” … (John Edwards)
I don’t consider our Soldiers and Marines “murderers” … (Jack Murtha)
I don’t consider the war “lost” … (Harry Reid)
I don’t feel the most important issue in fighting Al Qaeda is “Getting Bin Laden” … (Dem-Talking-Point)
I don’t consider being concerned about Illegal Immigration to be “racist” … (La Raza and Open Borders)
And that is just the tip of the iceberg
Such a sad commentary on the state of mental health in America. Is there anyone with enough compassion to commit her?? If the pharmaceutical companies had enough foresight, St. Sheehan could be the poster child for their next mental illness wonder drug.
All of you, especially, MM read this:
Remember in Rosemary’s Baby when she realizes that by dumping a bag of Scrabble tiles onto the floor and rearranging the letters of the name of her elderly, sweet neighbor it turns out he was really a pawn of Satan who conjures the Evil One to impregnate a human and otherwise herald the End of Times? It might be a little like that. Only far more more terrible. Because it’s real.
And I know I sound, oh, alarmist and my right wing friends will snort derisively at the sight of my white knees knocking together accompanied by the sounds of a cartoon xylophone, but it really appears that quite soon this country will be very different from the one our parents grew up in. In fact, very different from what was envisioned by those who founded it.
And that change won’t come in a blur of brown shirts. It will come with tiny American flags pinned to lapels. It will come with the stern glare of a caring, protective Father and the vacant, soothing touch of a passive, cowed Mother.
It will come while we dither and dote on idols, models and morals. It will come because those that endorse its coming are everything George Orwell said they are and everything the Bible says they are: sheep who make way for the rise of the big brothers, the false prophets and the anti-Christs.
And the assembled facts say the infrastructure for this change has already been laid right in front of our chewing mouths and glassy eyes and “oh-you’re-just-another-mincing-liberal-it-could-never-happen-here!!” attitudes, its crystalline structure expanding—doubling and doubling again—to create the perfect environment for a capitalist/fascist regime to thrive and that’s not being alarmist and here are the pieces. Let’s spill them onto the floor:
a wall to keep out “immigrants and terrorists”;
surveillance cameras on every corner;
an ideologically aligned Supreme Court;
a president who signs statements nullifying the legislation that has just passed;
a television-dependent, consumer-obsessed population;
the concentration of information outlets under a single authority;
the marginalization of the middle class and the busting of unions;
the suspension of habeas corpus;
denying the people access to information about government activity by asserting “executive privilege”;
the blurring of the lines between science and religion;
a faceless, terrifying enemy;
a unilaterally prosecuted War Without End.
Taken at their face, these are disparate elements, each one of them brought into being through reasonably articulate agents, trumpeted within hallowed and respected institutions. And each of them has come under fire as deeply flawed, inefficient or plain weird.
But spill those tiles onto the floor. Put them all together. See what they spell.
All of these things that pertain to the war and fighting terrorism wouldn’t be necessary if we didn’t have to fight a politically correct war because of the liberal media’s desire to take down the United States. This war could have been over with in a weekend if we were allowed to fight like we did in WWII.
I don’t know why you people are getting so worked up about the Dems trying to impeach Bush. I hope they find three more people to vote to impeach. Let’em try! Seriously.
What’s it gonna accomplish? Nothing! It’ll make the nutroots happy, it’ll fail, the Democrats will have overreached, everyone will be more sick of DC, and I think that’s beneficial to us in the long run. The more people thing of DC as a bunch of f-ups, they’ll look to lessen its power.
Notice that the Sheehanistas march on Monday, a sure sign that they aren’t encumbered by jobs like their opponents.
MikeB is on a roll – posted the Rosemary’s baby on another thread where he attacked Michelle.
1. Wire taps have been a part of national security way before Bush was president. If you talked about killing a sitting president, a computer picked it up and you were flagged. This has been going on for over 30 years. P.S. Bush did not tap anybody’s phone.
2. Silk Pony confirmed in 2003 Bush did not lie - before silk Pony decided to run for POTUS and changed his story. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3131295/
3. I love the Clinton argument “he lied about having sex (an inappropriate relationship) with an intern.” He lied to a grand jury! As you will see in the link in point 2 – Bush did not lie.
Even speaking about impeachment during a time of war is aiding and abetting the enemy MikeB. That alone deserves the title moonbat at the very least.
Gregory, All reasonable people, that excludes MM, believe the interment of Japanese citizens during WWII, was a huge error and a black mark on our history. The “liberal media,” if anything, does not go far enough in its condemnation of Bush’s illegal and unconstitutional actions. The NY Times, especially Judith Miller, did not for a second question the Bush’s administrations completely false clamis about WMD. What we need is a much more active press and a Congress that will hold this administration’s feed to the fire. If a Dem was President, MM would want Congress to investigate him or her all the time. But, consistency is not MM’s strong suit.
El Oh El!
Supporting the indefinite detention of an American citizen is an impeachable offense in my mind. So is supporting the torture of accused terrorists illegal clandestine prisons.
Not discussing the policies Bush has supported is tacit endorsement. And I refuse to endorse this wanton disregard for civil rights.
I don’t think the sky is falling like MikeB, but to accuse him of aiding and abetting the enemy is shameful. If you want to accuse someone of aiding and abetting an enemy, try GWB and his long-standing relationship with Saudi Arabia.
How much of this drama is directly the fault of the Stupid Party? Yeah, the Dems are crazy, hate-filled, power-mad, venal and out of their freaking minds, but how much traction would they be able to get if…
• The Trent Lott Stupid Partiers hadn’t torpedoed the Clinton Impeachment with clubby comity with their fellow millionaire pals across the aisle.
• The Stupid Party had properly read the results of the ‘06 elections as being a sign that they’d drifted too far left and not the Treason Media’s spin that they weren’t left enough, thus leading to shamnesty and the assault on talk radio by Lott, Chertoff and their RINO fellow travellers.
• Dubya was able to articulate a concept more complex than “Tacos rule!” (Bonus points for catching the reference.)
One of the reasons I refused to vote for his re-election - other than his unconstitutional (and cynical) signing of McCain-Feingold, fiscal recklessness, and other sins against conservatism - was because he was going to be incapable of explaining the stakes for Western civilization against an implacable foe with nothing less than death or enslavement for non-Muslims on their mind.
Because Dubya can’t get his message out coherently even before the Treason Media substitutes their agenda for the facts, all the memes about Dubya being a lying, torturing, spying, imperial tyrant that should clatter to the ground as they impact the public’s BS deflector shields, instead sticks and fester. Any one of us would be livid over being maligned the way Dubya is slammed daily - how do you feel about being called a “neocon”? multiply that to being called a “treasonous war criminal” and see how it feels; rinse, repeat - yet Dubya just rolls along.
While his supporters may like the “swagger” this implies, when Americans can be held hostage by and our soldiers killed and maimed by advanced weapons from Iran and all Dubya can do is mumble platitudes when the public really wants to hear, “The missiles are on their way. Our boys and girls will be avenged!”, then why not believe that he’s a dumb chimp and support his impeachment?
Well put Rusty.
“The hell is an Aluminum Falcon?”
Those were funny…
back and do some research. Before Bush, during the Clinton administration, nearly all Dimocrats (including the most liberal of liberals i.e. Kerry, Kennedy and Clinton himself) were screaming Iraq had WMD’s. Now that it suits their needs it is just easier to say Bush lied. John Edwards says he did not lie but now says Bush lied (I am guessing because the dead insurgents channeled him and told him so).
You talking points are showing.
Go back and redad it. I did not accuse him. Alas, that is how the liberal mind works.
Here it is so you do not have to look it up:
Even speaking about impeachment during a time of war is aiding and abetting the enemy MikeB.
Now, if speaking about impeaching a sitting President during a time of war is not aiding and abetting the enemy - define what is.
If MikeB is showing his true colors by talking about and agreeing to impeaching a sitting President during a time of war – he is the shameful one.
Oh, here we go with Saudi Arabia. Hell he even was part owner of the Rangers so he hates Mexicans. Your mindset is showing.
And Rusty, I suppose you agree with this comment?
This is twice now MikeB has attacked Michelle off topic. Shameful
On-my-soap-box
MikeB has told us he is a lawyer … and we all know where he is coming from no matter what the subject here … especially his vitriol for MM … I think there are several options you can assign the letter “B” in MikeB … take your pick …
Mike B:
Where is this wall to keep out immigrants and terrorists?
There are 8 corners in my immediate vicinity that do not have surveillance cameras installed.
The ideology of the Supreme Court has been ever present since its inception. It is a tough nut for nutroots to swallow now because the pendelum is going to swing pretty much to the right for the foreseeable future. But, why isn’t the ideological bent of the Circuit Courts being questioned? The district out here is completely left.
Not up for discussion,eh?
A President who uses his veto power…as protected by the Constitution…hmmmm….suspiscious indeed.
A television dependent consumer obsessed population….easy to typecast the entire population this way. But you are overreaching here: America has a very large share of fair minded, descent, modest, and charitable people.
The self-loathing greaseballs who must mimic the prophetic ones of eras past now in present day is what tends to lump everybody together as sheeple when in fact, the collective intelligence of the many in this country continues to make it the most desireable place on Earth to live and grow something of value.
Information outlets under a single authority. WOW! How did I miss that? When did the Internet become somebody’s personal political hobby horse? When did conservative talk radio (that stopped the DUBAI ports deal and the Shamnesty bill) get shut down?
The marginalization of the middle class and the busting of unions. Unions busted themselves because they failed to keep up with the REALITY of being in business, and became obsessed with their own power instead of continuing to produce skilled workers who created something of value that the marketplace wanted. Creating pension fund cash cows and lame medical and other benefit overhead “for all” just for showing up to work 40 hours a week was done incorrectly and for the wrong reasons by closet Marxists and Socialists who despise the word “profit”, even though nothing happens for anybody until it appeals to their mutual self-interest (and profit pays for everything whether one believes in it or not.) As for the middle class, i never met a die hard union worker who had a good night’s sleep. He/she was always worried about their credit, their overtime, their contract, their job security…..why? Because they sold their souls to a third party (the UNION) that really didn’t give a cr*p about the individual worker and the family…but definitely gave a hoot about that regular union due payment coming in on time……I used to be a teamster. And it only took one round of layoffs for me to see that the insiders got their share and the newbies could all rot for all they cared. Whoops! See ya later, “Brother”! The Unions have been a bust on their own accord. They were a throw back to the mideval guild system that was swept away by the printing press. Boo Hoo.
The suspension of Habeas Corpus. Get real. Compared to what Lincoln did during the Civil War the suspension of Habeas Corpus for Gitmo “detainees”, and other scum championed by the ACLU, it comes with the territory of being a democracy. There are laws on the books that provide for this contigency and it is being exercised in a time of war. This is not some concocted creation by some faceless enemy of the Left.
Deny access to information on the basis of executive privilege. This is done according to Constitutional precedent and the powers of the executive branch of government of the United States of America. Nutroots like to make up rules as they go along, or at least as fast as they can make up slogans to back up their logic. Want to know what Cheney talked about with his energy policy associates? Get a career in government and make your way into the circles of power. They will not be televising or broadcasting what must be done “as they see fit” *because they were elected to make those decisions*. Their accountability to the masses is limited by the fact that we are first and foremost a representative democracy
run according to constitutional principles. The courts protect executive privilege when it is enacted according to laws which govern it. Street thugs like Michael Moore and the rats at Daily Kos do not dictate how executive privilege is used. And what they do not understand they fear, and hence, want to destroy. Not in this lifetime.
The blurring of the line between science and religion. In the mind of Homer Simpson? Both ways of knowing, as these have been institutionalized, hawk long and hard to build subscribing constituencies. What else is new? What also is not new is that these issues are being debated and discussed ad nauseum so that people can make up their own minds. May the lines disappear altogether, as provided from the pseudo-prophetics like you, and be re-formed in the minds of individuals who seek to understand the world for themselves. Baaaaa! Baaaaa!
A Faceless Terrifying Enemy. Says who? The enemy is neither. They harken back as the originators of the African slave trade. They have pursued martial conquest since their founding by another “prophet” wannabe. The only reason many of them are faceless is because they hide behind burkas and head scarves…not to mention women and children.
A Unilaterally Prosecuted War Without End. Perhaps because we are the ones using uniformed troops it can be called a unilateral war without end. Take a trip over to jihadwatch.org and cruise the archives of the past 3 years alone to see what a unilaterally prosecuted war looks like, Dude.
I hope people everywhere will rejoinder your style of pablum regarding what “is going on”. This cry has been going on in this nation since it’s breaking away from Britain. It is tedious and boring.
My question to your sort is this: “Should I or someone else band together with you and the others, for what will we fight, for whom, and who would die first?”
The answers are always the same: to preserve the rights and privileges of an ideological elite which would inherit the tools of the perceived “master”; we would be under the command of masters’ elite corps of intellectuals; and, of course, the good ol’ rank and file will catch it first.
NO Thanks!
Bear, It will be hard to address all your points, but: “Executive Privilege” is designed for the PRESIDENT to have candid talks with whomever he wishes. In the case of the DOJ scandal, everyone says that the President was not involved, so there is no privilige. In case you forgot, government officials work for us.
As far as faceless enemies, your response shows you have no understanding of the Muslim world. Muslims, like Shia and Sunni, Turks and Arabs, Persians and Arabs, Kurds and Arabs, etc. have fought and continue to fight amongst themselves. Saddam hated Osama and Iranis and did not let them into his country. Now that Bush and the Neo-Cons in their infinite wisdom invaded Iraq, Iran and Al Queida are at their strongest–such great geopolitical minds we have.
Translated it for you bear1909
On my soapbox, you prove once again my point. Conservatives have three methods of debating: (1) Name calling; (2) Questioning patriotism; and (3) Censorship.
Impeach-a-palooza comes to
WashingtonMichellemalkin dot comGreat thread Michelle. You even bring them out in your own blog!
MikeB is right to some extent. I think it unreasonable of you to keep him registered - LOL
You knew Teamsters who showed up for 40 hours of work?!
Just kidding - well put.
My mindset is showing? Well, yeah, I am admittedly liberal. Why would I pretend to be something else.
And I was mortified when one of my Senators (Kerry) voted for the war resolution. Democrats who took the administration’s bait should be ashamed of themselves.
Considering terrorists want to destroy precious American freedoms (like the freedom of speech), I would say you are aiding and abetting the enemy by trying to supress patriotic dissent.
Kidding, sort of. I could never seriously accuse someone of doing something as vile as supporting terrorists. But when that accusation is used to cripple liberals, it makes my blood boil.
Most of us love this country as much as you do. Instead of worshipping a flag, liberals tend to worship the rights we
arewere guaranteed in the Constitution. If you are so uncomfortable with dissent, move to Cuba or Russia. You’ll find public dissent is in short supply there.Argh! I chimed in here to say the pro-impeachment people were short-sighted! I was agreeing with the conservative viewpoint! Is anything but total agreement unacceptable to you, Soapbox?
Mikeb
Pot meet kettle:
Name calling
“All reasonable people, that excludes MM”
“Bush lies”
Questioning patriotism
BUSH SHOULD BE IMPEACHED! Enought said about that.
Censorship
I had no idea I had such power - thanks. By the way, you dish it out, you should be able to take it. I was having some fun with word play like say;
“Remember in Rosemary’s Baby” and demanding we read it.
Hey, what about my comment about Clinton lying to a Grand Jury that you happened to just let go by without addressing? Oh, fact got in the way.
Sorry MikeB.
I missed the memo that said if you are pro impeach Bush and pro Michelle bashing, you are agreeing with conservatives.
Again, you are wrong about me. I am very happy you and I disagree. I find it very acceptable.
Troll MikeB said: “Conservatives have three methods of debating: (1) Name calling; (2) Questioning patriotism; and (3) Censorship.”
(1) It’s not an ad hominem attack if it’s true. You ARE a BDS spouting “useful idiot” and retard.
(2) I don’t question YOUR patriotism because there is nothing to question. WE KNOW YOU AREN’T A PATRIOT. So it is no longer a “question” to be raised. We also know that you are advancing the goals of Al Qaeda and that you do so at every opportunity.
(3) Nobody is censoring you. You exercise your right to free speech EVEN THOUGH you insult our hostess at every opportunity. If this were DKOS, your type of host-insulting would have gotten you IMMEDIATELY banned. If this were Huffpo or DU, your anti-host behavior would have gotten your posts purged as well. But here, you get to call Michelle names, and insult the rest of us — both directly and by injecting your rather ignorant views to insult our intelligence.
But, as freedom of speech swings both ways, WE get to respond. So when I call you a liar, and a liberal/recividist pig with fecal matter for brain, consider it as part of the free exchange of ideas in the marketplace of ideas.
Now, blow it out your ass, clown. That’s a good troll!
Oh, one more thing impeachment fans — BRING IT ON!
Seeya on the barricades!
Definition for all to see and form their own opinion as to what a patriot is or isn’t
Best comment all day - IMHO.
Well Bear1909, I guess you told him.
I am glad you agree that MikeB and I and all of you are patriots. We all love America. We just have different ideas on how to maintain its awesomeness.
I am reminded of the words of Voltaire:
One can only hope that will be the case should the need arise in our lifetimes for those so in denial that the GWOT is worth fighting.
ahhhhhhh…I’m lovin’ it…MikeB proving once again that liberals and lefties love and support our Nation the same way Ike loved and supported Tina…keep at it MikeB!
Gippergirl, Must you make me go through this litany every time I post. Okay, America is great because we all can sit here and debate issues, call each other names, burn flags, criticize religions, talk on the phone with whomever we wish without worrying the government listening (oh wait, strike that one). Aren’t we in Iraq to build democracy (is that this week’s justification), can’t we also have it here?
About MikeB-
1.
Bear1909 replies: Mike- I haven’t forgotten that government officials work for us. You missed my point: if there are grounds for asserting executive privilege, and the assertion sticks- meaning it passes legal muster- then it applies, even if it applies in its broadest sense. It stuck, and that makes the hapless Pat “Pork” Leahy squirm in his little wooden shoes. And while we are on the subject of government officials, do they really work for us? When was the last time one of those freeloaders was fired for screwing up? Promoted maybe. But never fired. And in case you don’t know what you are talking about: a government official is a shade of grey different from a run-of-the-mill federal employee. Joe Married to The Blonde Hack at The CIA was a government official. The Blonde Hack at the CIA was a federal employee. Who did they “work for?” But I digress.
Bear1909 replies: And it shows this how, Mr. B? “Understanding of the Muslim world”….what kind of multi-culti clap trap BS Kum Ba Ya Ha Maja AHA! ginned up phony construct is that?
Who evaluates the criteria for understanding the “Muslim world”?
All this liberal nonsense about how we can’t broadbrush stroke the “world of Islam”, but there is this commodity you tag as “understanding of the Muslim world.”
Can I send away for this from some cereal box lable?
Does the Daily Kos diary about it (Dear Al Ja Heebi Jeeebi: I am so grateful for my understanding of the Muslim World. Now I am just like Pelosi Galore and her runt team of stooges who went to Shamasskiss. Love you! Dickie “TIE MY TURBAN” Durbin).
My response showed that there is a different view of “the Muslim World” than the prevailing view of Lefty Legal Beagles who are all caught up in their own fanatical phobias about FASCISM IN AMERICA and so caught up that they cannot see fascism that is at war with the Western World.
I’ve been inside your view at the grassroots level: it is misinformed and wishful thinking at best.
The “Muslim World” indeed.
Bear 1909 replies:
Oh THAT Muslim world. And this has to do with the price of freakin bananas how?
I won’t let you shift the argument away from the 1984 diatribe you lurched onto the scene with. So, the very fact that you can name the conflicting parties and suggest the stereotypical “fight amongst themselves” genre of sociopolitical relations in the “Muslim World”, underscores the fact that this is not a “faceless” enemy.
The point here is that these tribal conflicts, and the wider more modernized Mullah-cracies who are calling for genocidal extermination of non-believers, have verifiable identities and geographic coordinates.
The historical fact that tribes of people from throughout the region have warred with each other for centuries doesn’t pass muster.
Your argument reminds me of the woman who stabbed her husband dead with a fork because he complained about his eggs one morning. That wasn’t about breakfast, Dude.
This geopolitical situation isn’t about warring ethnic enclaves of Muslim fanatics. This is about a part of the world that wants to have influence on the world by exporting its chaos under the name of Islam into the West.
That is not about interethnic rivalries. IT is about genocidal maniacs (soon to be with nukes) who say it is the will of Allah.
This is not about “breakfast” and everything to do with the region of the world under Islamic rule that initiated the African slave trade, conquered Spain and parts of eastern Europe, and has initiated a war against the West when the Nazis failed in WW2.
So, Mike, the premise of your rebuttal of my presentation is beginning to leak and list to port.
Bear1909 (with Mike B covered with little red lights) pulls the trigger:
Dude- Iran is rotting from within. Al-Qaeda is still a threat; but, you have to admit, they are taking a serious ass kicking in Iraq.
They have lost 10 times the fighting personnel to battlefield death (who knows what their total casualty count is) as the US has. They do not have an infinite supply of personnel.
They resemble the post-Jackson Confederacy in the summer of 1863. Lots of “victories”, complete with the disarray and confusion of the North not understanding how to fight a mobile army living among the general population.
What the US has done recently, similar to what it did under Grant and Sherman, was to take the fight to the enemy. It becomes a mathematical equation: and the US is not even on a total war footing yet either.
Al Qaeda and Iran’s strength is cresting. Do you really believe Iran is strong without Syria, Hamas, and Hezbollocks?
The Stumpy Little Nutbag in Iran is a fool if he thinks the US has to attack him straight on to shut down his economy even further, and eventually get him to turn off the juice to his nukes.
Look at what happened to Help Me I’m Mentally iLL in North Korea.
Further, the US will take out Syria if they move on the Golan Heights. And Israel will destroy Hamas no-holds barred in Lebanon. How strong will Iran be then?
No more suicide bombers into Bagdad from Syria. More US patrols (and we haven’t even played the Kurdish card yet) on the Iranian border to stop the IED flow.
So when you speak of strength, what are you referring to specifically.
Strength to do what? Share values with the Democratic party?
The other erosion of strength will be the next Presidential election. If the Dems win, the terrorists are hurt because the Democratic president will have to sit in a war room and make decisions that are not quite cricket with the current parlor games of the campaign trail.
If the Dems lose, they will be utterly discredited as being capable of fighting the war, by mandate of the American people.
There is an element in the White House Administration that will regain sway should there be another attack on the US here on our soil. And they will regain sway should the surge continue to produce results (that go unreporte
