I say the GOP is doing just fine on this one.

With idiots like these, its best just to let them keep taking rope until they hang themselves.

I say bring on impeachment. Waste more of America's time and money do-nothing congress. The Demos won't succeed, they'll do nothing but drag their feet and accomplish nothing. The nutroots cannot be appeased, and the general electorate will be disgusted.

The best thing that could happen is caving to the nutroots. They are the mighty mouse: they squeak and think its a roar.

Bear1909, any reference to the great archery company? I love my Bear compound!
We make our own bows up here in Bear country...lol.
Wooo-Wooo-Wooo-Wooo! Oh, btw, I didn't say the state of the nation was "comical"; i referred to it as *near comical*. And you have to admit that Pelosi and Co are a joke. Then there is Chertoff getting a cameo review as the savior of the modern world in TIME magazine (I didn't know he used to be a federal judge...that says alot). Anyways, any time I see Pelosi Galore's botoxed mug I crack up at the fact she can't even blink or lord knows what else!

Just a clarifier!

Comparatively speaking, what we lost in MINUTES at the WORLD TRADE CTR pales to the loss of troops in a FIVE YEAR period.

Now what was the terrorists' cause again? Need a LIBERAL to answer this one.

THEY still cannot focus on the REAL ENEMY.

You know, I hate that we have lost over 3000 soldiers and workers in Iraq. In 5 years or in 5 months, I would hate it all the same. Our nation sure could not take another world war where we looked at the long term effects of countries and continents ruled under a dictatorship. Back in WWII, we threw men at battles and lost thousands per day. We came together as a country knowing we were doing the right thing for freedom. It has always been America who came to the rescue and led the way to freedom. Sadly, the attitude of the left is – we have ours let them get there’s. Now, we have “americans” who call us repressive to the people of Iraq. Well, let’s just wait and see what a do nothing attitude does for France. Will we have to bail them out again and how many soldiers will we have to throw at that? Bear1909 is right, our democracy was once great but I hardly find the state it is in comical.

Democracy is an idea. America is an idea. The mechanics for keeping it alive is a representative form of government at local, state, and national levels. The laws that provide a framework for governance are complicated and have taken shape over two centuries.

Attention Moonbats: It has taken us over 2 centuries to reach the near-comical state of disarray at which we find ourselves as a nation today. Can you argue against that opinion? Oh sure. And you probably would. But can you at least admit that 5 years, in the midst of bloody combat against religious fanatics and murderers, is hardly "too long" for a fledgling government to take in finding its way to govern (as opposed to ruling)?

Re: Churchill:

I see that Mikey failed to explain his Churchill reference and how he'd be in Gitmo if alive and in the in the US today.

Not hard to understand - it's loony to even posit the notion in the first place.

Churchill was a war critic in the sense that he was a hard war man and Chamberlain really didn't have his heart in it - until May, 1940 when Hitler invaded the low countries and France. Until then, Chamberlain's big move was on Norway - a big mistake in that all he succeeded in doing was weakening Great Britain by pulling ships away from Channel duty.

Then, of course, when Great Britain finally realized Hitler meant business, they sacked Chamberlain and replaced him with the guy who had been saying since 1933 that Hitler was a menace.

Chruchill's war crticisms were made in the context of him wanting Great Britain to win. Mike B and his liberal friends "cirticism" of our war policy is made not in the interest in seeing us win but to score political points. I would say that they were also made in the belief that it was better for us to lose but I don't want to hurt Mikey;'s feelings.

Of course, ironically, women have it much worse in Iraq now than they did uner Saddam Hussein. The Iraqi people seem to want an Islamic theocracy. Islam isn’t exactly progressive when it comes to women’s rights. We agree there, no?

Sorry, I did not read you right. NO WE CO NOT AGREE. Women were so abused under Sadam. They could not hold jobs or go to school. Girls could not go to school. Today it is just the opposite. My last post said we agreed at 95%. Nope, less than 50% now that I go back. Sorry dude.

Rusty. Hmm, you had me until you suggest I "claim I won an argument". Where did I do such a thing?

Thanks otherwise for that post. Agreed on 95%

If we are in Iraq for no other reason than to free the women (a noble cause at the very least), we are there for the best reason of all.

This “impeachment” frenzy brings out the best in some of us and the worst in others. My argument is still, you do not talk about impeachment of a sitting President during a time of war. Now, if I am wrong, just say so and I will reserve the right to call you a goofball. I have been called names here and just think it is part of the game.

As for being all over the place, I am just trying to keep up with MikeB (as are others). I, for one, will defend our President (I grew up in a time where it was normal and expected).

All of that aside, I continue to try to inject facts instead of just rattling off talking points. Have you read the link to the John Edwards interview? That dispels ANY talk about Bush lied to get us into this “illegal occupation” as the left is fond of calling it.

Peace
