Dearborn charities raided, alleged jihadi front groups

The “Martyrs Foundation and Goodwill Charitable Organization.”

What’s it sound like to you?

Well, it looks like a terror front group to the feds. Detroit media are reporting the charity’s offices were targeted today:

The Bush administration took action Tuesday against an Iran-based foundation, including its U.S. branch, for allegedly providing support to Hezbollah, a terrorist group the United States has blamed for bloodshed in Lebanon.

The Treasury Department’s action covers the Martyrs Foundation and Goodwill Charitable Organization of Dearborn, Mich., which the government identified as a fundraising office for the foundation.

The government also moved against al-Qard al-Hassan, a Beirut firm that the U.S. government believes was used by Hezbollah “as a cover to manage its financial activity.”

Two Lebanese people – Qasem Aliq and Ahmad al-Shami – also were covered by Tuesday’s order.

The U.S. identified Aliq as a Hezbollah official who was once the director of the Martyrs Foundation’s branch in Lebanon. The U.S. says he is currently a director of Jihad al Bina, a Lebanon-based construction company allegely formed and operated by Hezbollah.

Al-Shami had worked for the foundation in Lebanon, the department said.

The action means that any bank accounts or other financial assets found in the United States that belong to those identified on Tuesday must be frozen. Americans also are forbidden by doing business with them.

Debbie Schlussel has a report and round-up on all the local action. Looks like another Hezbollah-tied charity, Al Mabarat, was also raided.

Follow the money. Then shut it off.

Try on that bumper sticker, Dems.

I am waiting to hear outrage from the moderate Muslims that they are appalled that this is going on in the US and they are totally against supporting radical Muslim terrorists.

I imagine it is going to be a long wait. More realistically, we’ll probably hear from CAIR about how unjust the raid is with no comment about stopping terrorism.

Anyone living in the US with ties to Hezbollah or Hamas should be shut down. PERIOD.

These are not just fundraising organizers. These are battlefield commanders for action to erupt here in the States when the time comes to deal with Iran and Lebanon and Syria.

They are rooted in our streets and neighborhoods. They are tracking police operations and disaster preparedness plans. We are an open society and this scum is exploiting that along with our laws that PERMIT these scum to operate under the political protections of the 1st Ammendment.

This is the part of the Bush Administration that will be his legacy: he is kicking some serious ass on these scum, both here and overseas.

    May it continue.

I am curious to know what roles the wiretapping played into the investigation of these terrorist fronts. If they helped then Bush should get the word out that wiretapping is helping in the War on Terror, before the Dems are able to convince the rest of the American people that it is just another way for Bush to desecrate the Constitution. We don’t need specifics, mind you, but whether or not it played a key role might come in handy for those defending it.

I don’t remember hearing about the laws against sedition being repealed. When did that happen? and if it didn’t, why aren’t we pursuing it against anyone that supports these “fund raisers”?

Along with anyone that openly advocates and supports the overthrow of the government, agression against our troops or imposition of sharia in the U.S.?

The Bush administration has done a good job fighting terrorism. After seeing the Democrats time and time again be against fighting terrorism here and abroad, God help us if they get more control than they have now. They certainly would not be going after these groups like Bush is.

What’s it going to take to get these people out of our country? Whether they’re naturalized or not, either deport them or prosecute them for treason or sedition.

Our politicians are cowering to the lunatic left and the MSM. There is only a few who still have a set. What are the people of this country thinking? This is insane!

I don’t know what people are thinking.

I do know that more than we would care to think about are not paying attention.

There are many hardworking intelligent people here in the States who are just not paying attention.

They are into their own thing and that’s about it. The Middle East is boring and relentlessly unchanging to them.

They are content to know an American Iraqi here or a Syrian American there. But the Middle East? Don’t bother them with that, unless you want to hear about how happy they are with their PRIUS (so they aren’t part of the problem- well, at least not the oil problem…the copper mining problem is a different story, as is the number of times the nickel cadmium must be shipped across the Pacific before it can be included in the PRIUS building process….but I digress).

Then there is the most disgusting cohort of our population:
Baby Boomers are anticipating retirement en masse very soon. THAT is the most important thing to those who still believe they will be able to hang up their trunks and sit on a beach somewhere collecting 20 per cent on fiat currency that is getting ready to melt like a late spring snow (mind you not in 2 years, but a little further into the Boomers Retirement Fiesta).

And they are thinking about the overpriced McMansions they bought during Billy Jeff’s real estate extravaganza in the 90s….lol…Berkeley is full of them.

Then we have the crowd who is looking for somebody to slip them the “answer” about all of this “MADNESS”. Unwilling to do their homework or network with people who are busy and dedicated, nonetheless, to follow what is going on in the world from whatever sources they trust outside the MSM.

What worries me is that so many of my fellow Americans can’t read anything other than fiction. As I walk through the airports and see people reading those cheezy pageturners, or visit people and see their “Book” shelves full of cheezy pageturners, I worry that people don’t read the good stuff that makes our country tick.

These charities that front for our enemies are bent on destroying our systems of living. Most of these Americans who are not paying attention don’t even know what those systems are or how they operate.

    The Food System.
    The Legal System.
    The Banking System.
    The Entertainment System.
    The Education System.
    The Mental Health System.
    The Public Health System.
    The Transportation System.

    and on and on.

These have taken centuries to evolve and grow. And it has not been the genius of some schmuck in Congress that has made it so. Nor will it be some stinky Mullah on your City Council that will keep it so.

But some Americans couldn’t give less of a care about such things. They want to go up to the bar and give it a peck to get whatever kernel they were told they were supposed to get. You wouldn’t expect that if you spoke with them….but they don’t know much about what makes any of it work.

Weird. I wonder if that’s what makes them not have any fight in them. Very intelligent-appearing people. America is filled with them. But push it and you find out how dim they can be.

I think our enemies know this. Not the Mullah in al-Anbar. But these operatives here in the US…they know it. They live here. And they are using it.

Are we afraid to put ourselves out there with these “COEXIST” types? To challenge them? To piss them off by contesting their sleepwalking?

    What’s it going to take?

Quite simply: a nuke right in their pie holes. Then followed by armed takeover of neighborhoods with automatic weapons that can outgun SWAT and local police….whom our enemies know are thin in their ranks.

We’ll survive it. But some of the parakeets among us will die first. We’ll hear “How could this have happened?”

It happened while some of the good people of America slept.

This is Bear1909 from Berkeley California. OUT!

    “What’s it going to take?”

It’s going to take a huge terrorist attack on the west coast to wake those people up. One in San Francisco, Berkeley or Seattle. Then, and probably only then, will they admit there is a problem. And I am sure it will all end up being Bush’s fault, not the terrorists who attack them.

One of my bigger fears is that the islamic extremists decide that they will attack polling places in swing states during the next election. They will carefully target these polling places to be in conservative areas early in the day. They will feel that this will bring the Dems into power and that they can further their long term goals of weakening the US.

Fine, but I think it is a mistake to blame radical Moslems.

Because political correctness is now so deeply ingrained in our public culture, there seems to be no possibility of Washington or the media admitting that some cultures many have aspects that are “different” from traditional American values and culture. Except for a few brave souls like Michael Savage and Pat Buchanan, none dare speak objectively of the differences in cultures.

I think it is the nature of many Islamic and Arab peoples that a fair number of them will be zealots and a small percentage fanatics. Thus if we have politically correct immigration policies (what Michael Savage refers to as “chamberpot immigration” as opposed to melting pot), we must accept that we will import a certain percentage of Islamic zealots and fanatics, because that is their nature.

But if there is a danger from a small percentage of these people, the blame is on the politically correct public power structure that denies any difference in cultures and insists on politically correct immigration policies. If a pit bull owner lets his dog run loose and it mauls someone, do you blame the dog? Not me. I blame the owner. Telling Moslem immigrants that they are Americans now and must be moderate is sort of like telling Catholics that the Supreme Court has decided on abortion and expecting them to immediately drop their cultural habits.

Iraq I consider to be the first PC war. Remember pre-war how all the supporters told us that the Iraqi people were just like little Thomas Jeffersons who would take to democracy like ducks to water and be a Shining City on the Hill for the other Arabs? Turned out Bush, Sr.’s and Scowcroft’s objective view of Iraqi culture was correct and Bush, Jr’s politically correct view of the Iraqi people was faulty. In my view politically correct immigration is just as faulty in logic.
