Unhinged mechanic demands troop withdrawal, threatens bombings, murder
An aircraft mechanic sent e-mails to the FBI claiming he had planted explosives at Utah’s Hill Air Force Base and planned to take six hostages in Idaho, authorities said Wednesday. Five buildings were evacuated Tuesday after the e-mails began surfacing, but the threat turned out to be false and no hostages were taken, FBI agent Tim Fuhrman said.
William Stiffler, 39, was unarmed when he was arrested Tuesday in Malad, Idaho, as he prepared to board an employee shuttle to the base, Fuhrman said. Stiffler has worked on C-130 planes at Hill since 2001.

Stiffler didn’t identify himself in the e-mails, but Fuhrman said the FBI was familiar with him. He did not elaborate on why.

He was led into Salt Lake’s Federal District Court in shackles and chains to hear the charges against him, sending Threatening Communication via the internet, a Felony.
39-year-old William Stiffler is a mechanic who has worked on C-130 cargo planes at Hill Air Force Base since 2001 and where court documents say he admitted sending an e-mail to the FBI that threatened to blow up three bombs on the base and execute an “adult female and several children” in Idaho if his demand was not met.
That demand: to return all military personnel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan home. Court papers say the first e-mail was sent 12:30am on Tuesday, a second similar e-mail originating from Stiffler’s Clifton, Idaho home was sent three hours later. It got the attention of the FBI’s Public Access Center Unit (PACU) in Washington, D.C. which monitors such threats.
All he is saying is: “Give peace a chance…or I’ll kill you.”

It’s like a leer jet liberal, except with bombs. It’s only okay for moonbats to use bombs, it’s not okay for everybody else. Give peace a chance!!

Ah, another spoiled American liberal brat, so angry that the world does not do or behave as he sees fit, he’ll threaten to kill - for peace.
He had to get the attention of those who only understand war and killing; if soldiers kill for war then why shouldn’t civilians kill in protest for peace; he was only targeting those who create war in the first place; he was so upset with the human carnage brought about by the Bush adminstration that he responded in the only way his limited education allowed; he never meant it, it was a bluff to try to have an impact on the murder of innocents by US troops in Iraq; he wanted to show the Bush administration what it feels like to be threatened the way innocent Muslims are threatened by the Bush administration, and on and on and on.
Remember how Time described the Unibomber on their cover? “Tortured genius“. (!)
I wonder which combination of the above excuses will be used by the left this time to again whitewash the murderous and intolerant among their political activist ranks. So many excuses, so little time…
Now that’s reassuring. The C130s I used to fly in were reworked at Hill. Possible explanation for some of the holdups we had. Maybe this gomer was too busy watching loose change to turn a wrench.
I pity the rest of the maintenance crew there. They’ll probably have to pull the paperwork on everything he worked on and recheck it all.
It’s pretty much the modus operandi of the left…everyone here remembers the pictures of Bush with a gun to his head, the painting a protester held with Bush’s disembodied head, etc.
They are violent and if they don’t intimidate you with physical threats, they turn to activist judges and politicians to create mandates so everyone thinks in the same misguided, politically correct, peacenik way they do.
It really is frightening.
And then they have the gall to accuse conservatives of being violent and bigoted.
Get this guy put away before he can vote! If this maroon isn’t a Hillary or Obama vote, I’d eat my hat.
The left coast is about to bring out the next Vietnam style anti-war and anti-military movies. Stand by over the next year and a half for the appeasement socialists and pacifist radicals to push the bad soldier/sick soldier psychological junk masquerading as a docu-drama. When you hear a lefty say I love the troops but hate the war, just remember Kerry and Durbin. There is no question that a substantial segment of the Democrat party hate the military, hate Bush, and even hate the country.
One thing about guys like Stiffler: They have little emotional control and lack any ability to reason in the real world. Therefore, facts and logic have little value. Everything done, no matter how bizarre, is done to advance whatever politically correct cause seems to strike their fancy. I think I just described the modern progressive Democrat (chuckle).
These people’s moral compasses are screwed up. Only a liberal would think it’s o.k. to take hostages and threaten to kill people in the name of peace. These are also the same people that don’t want us to be able to protect our homes with firearms because “violence is bad”. Such hypocrisy.

I don’t understand how people like this can even exist. Do they actually think that anything they do is going to make the US military, or the Administration, comply with their demands? It’s mind boggling.
This is, sadly, the effect that ANY strongly emoted cause has on the weak-minded and desparate.
Whether it is Jihad, or an emotionally charged right or left wing cause, it doesn’t matter.
People like this, who most likely have emotional issues to begin with, feel empowered by taking on a cause. They feel supported by all the media reports and the protests and hatred. Hence, when they finally act out, they feel that those who also hold those same basic views will support them and they will be heralded for their acts.
Sadly, in this case, all that will happen is the liberal-far-left will hold this case up as an example of what “Bush’s war” did to this poor man.

Give War A Chance!

MikeB, in an article in this week’s Newsweek, it cites a Pew poll that shows 60 percent of Muslims age 18 to 29 think of themselves as “Muslim first.”
If you object to people identifying Muslim-Americans as primarily Muslim, take your complaint to the majority of young Muslims who think of themselves as Muslim first, Americans second, if American at all.
As a general comment, Hill AFB is the main depot for Air Force fighter aircraft. That means that USAF fighter aircraft requiring major modifications fly to Hill to have them done. I suspect it may be the same for cargo aircraft like the C-130.
Hill AFB is a major repair depot for C-130 and F-16 aircraft. No doubt they are pulling every piece of equipment this lunatic worked on for “safety of flight.” Having been to Hill AFB several times in my active duty days, it would not be very hard for someone allowed the run of the main base to plant explosive devices were they could cause a lot of casualties. Hope we don’t have any lunatics plotting similar actions at the Air Force Base I’m typing this from right now. This incident only goes to prove Liberalism is a disease that blocks rational thought with feelings.
