CAIR vs. Giuliani
The grievance-mongers at CAIR have issued an “Action Alert” against Rudy Giuliani for using–gasp!–the phrase “Islamic terrorism.”
LGF has a reminder of CAIR’s attack on Giuliani for rejecting disaster-relief aid from Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal after 9/11.
Badge of honor.

Dang that punctuation anyway!
Yeah, what the hay! LOL!
On July 26th, 2007 at 12:48 pm, MikeB said: And also, Gayle, unlike you, I don’t make personal attacks. So I won’t even address the “if my wife was raped” thing.
It’s a personal attack when they cannot answer a question.
Let’s try once more:
SOLUTION TO TERRORIST; LIBERAL PERSPECTIVE
CAIR … the poor islamic terrorists ACLU …
Must be calling Michael Moore……
MikeB said,
” If he is none of the above ignore the story, that way your wing nut readers will think all our criminals are Mexicans, Muslims, or liberals.”
Isn’t calling MM’s reader’s wing nut’s a personal attack?
I took it as one…. but ignored it til now…..lmao
Hey MikeB you 9-11 truther you
“How about Guiliani trying to cheap score political points when Ron Paul pointed out that we were attacked for meddling in Middle Eastern affairs (which is what OBL and others have said)?”
The minute I read this I thought ok the guy loves Ron Paul and is listening to dead ol OBL and I really just need to say you have lost your freakin mind and my favorite saying America love her or leave her, oh and take Ron Paul and Michael Moore and DKos with you.
No answer = don’t know, brain cell battery is dead, OR don’t want to ’cause I am pouting!!!!
I would ROFL but it is too true and it makes me sad.
Gayle, I have a solution to terrorism, but I don’t want to take up too much space here or I will be accused, once again, of hijacking this string.
If you have the solution, then you should run for the presidency.
Please enlighten us here.
On-my-soap-box
Didn’t mean to make you sad …
Wow – so much chatter while I was away at lunch….
I’ll simply respond to DarkKnight #64:
I do not think that everyone OTHER than Fox is liberal. But no logical person, looking at editorials and research into their manner of reporting can assert that the major networks SUCH AS: CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and newspapers like the NYT & Washington Post are anything but liberally slanted.
Can you name me anyone OTHER than FOX who comes from more of a conservative standpoint when it comes to television news outlets?
There are a number of newspapers around the country that have more conservative editorial views.
My point was, that individuals who get their news solely or primarily from these liberally leaning news sources are the ones who claim that all our liberties are being taken away. They base this, as MikeB did, on ‘what he’s read’, and I’m presuming, what he’s heard.
I know of no official news story where and individual has come forward and said “My rights have been taken away” and been able to prove there is a concerted effort to eliminate our liberties. ( And I am not talking about individuals suspected of either acting / conspiring / funding / assisting terrorist activities )
I’m talking about ordinary citizens.
If you can point us to proof, not just hearsay and speculation, please enlighten us.

Didn’t John Kerry use something along those lines as an excuse in 2004 when asked for his plan?
( Paraphrasing )” I have a plan, and I’ll talk about that plan once I become President”.
Still waiting……(yawn)
Ok, here is my plan: (1)Move some of the troops from the interior of Baghdad to the borders to seal it off. Let the Iraqis have their civil war if they want it or let them work it out themselves; (2) Move a sufficient force from Iraq to Afghanistan and Pakistan and “finish the job” (with NATO) on al Quida and the Taliban; (3) Have stronger border enforcement and airport security; (4) Deport illegals who commit crimes; (5) Yes, support what you call “shamisty.” We need to monitor the 15 million or whatever illegals are in here to protect us from terrorism; (6) Follow the British model of fighting domestic terrorism, that works. That is, win the trust of Islamic communities and have good community policing. You do that by not demonizing Muslims every chance you get (hear that MM, but if she did that, 50% of this site would disappear).
Sorry, but it isn’t working for the British. WHY?
Because the Muslim population is tremendous.
Hence the attacks.
Cannot leave Iraq even IF we wanted to…..do you want IRAN taking over that country and having to go back again?
Hmmm…MikeB:
(1)Move some of the troops from the interior of Baghdad to the borders to seal it off. Let the Iraqis have their civil war if they want it or let them work it out themselves;
- How many troops would you move? You anticipate being able to seal all of Iraq’s borders with only SOME of our troops? And what of the rest? They remain in Baghdad with a smaller number ripe for attack without sufficient support?
(2) Move a sufficient force from Iraq to Afghanistan and Pakistan and “finish the job” (with NATO) on al Quida and the Taliban;
- So, now we’ve got SOME of our soldiers sealing off Iraq. SOME in Baghdad. And the rest in Afghanistan &…what you say? Pakistan? Have we invaded Pakistan? Have we been invited into Pakistan?
(3) Have stronger border enforcement and airport security;
- Score One for MikeB
(4) Deport illegals who commit crimes;
- Score Two for MikeB
(5) Yes, support what you call “shamisty.” We need to monitor the 15 million or whatever illegals are in here to protect us from terrorism;
- So you want us to monitor these 15 million people AFTER we give them amnesty because we need to protect ourselves from terrorism….insinuating that some of those who we just granted amnesty to may be trying to harm us?
Ok… deduct one point from you score.
(6) Follow the British model of fighting domestic terrorism, that works. That is, win the trust of Islamic communities and have good community policing. You do that by not demonizing Muslims every chance you get (hear that MM, but if she did that, 50% of this site would disappear).
- Yeah, it works…which is why the UK has been struck several times since 9/11 and we haven’t, right?
And, for the record, discussing the terrorist and criminal actions of people, whether they are Muslim, Mexican, or any other ethnicity or religion is not demonization. What would you like to see here?
NEWSFLASH: A Muslim Citizen saved a kitten stuck in a tree today, proving that not all of them are bad.
MM reports on what is newsworthy.
From a Reuters news story just released about the killing of 50 Taliban fighters in Afghanistan by Coalition troops:
“The Taliban, who are leading an insurgency against the government and foreign troops, could not be reached for comment and because of the remoteness of the region there was no independent verification of the report.”
Are you kidding me? We now have news agencies trying to contact enemy terrorists and insurgents for confirmation of our military strikes & battles?
This adds another definition to Webster’s entry under “Nutroots”
jrlingreenbay in #120
They have always contacted them … where do you think they keep getting those outrageous numbers of women and children that were killed in an attack … ????
Hey MikeBuh Buh Buh Beeeeeeeee! Top o the Califas morning to you, My Fellow Traveller!
First, let me ask you, are you romantically involved with Mrs. Paul, and you are tail covering by heaping praise on the aluminum clotted Mr. Paul?
Just curious. So much zeal for Mr. Paul I figured you were sweet on the Mrs.
And then there is the matter of “domestic spying”. That is what the New York Times called it. However, the technical details do not amount to “domestic spying”. But the “lie” has become your platform on this issue.
Also, Alberto Gonzalez is not the worst AG in history. We can easily save that label for John Mitchell under Nixon. When you spout garbage that *Makes No Sense* people tend to not take you seriously. Take it from me. I spout silliness all the time in the face of all this dire news of the day…and I am not taken very seriously. But you spout garbage. Take a closer look at yourself, Dude.
And my final point is this: Osama Bin Chili Dog attacked the USA because he could. He attacked the USS Cole because he could. He attacked the US embassies because he could. He is convinced that violence will drive the US out of everywhere he wants us to leave because his brain is stuck in the time warp where the belief is that the US is an imperial power. Imperial power ended with the defeat of the Axis Powers in WW2.
In case you hadn’t noticed, the number of representative democracies has increased by 5 factors of 10 since the end of WW2. Imperialism doesn’t do that. Call these new democracies what you will, the way that Lefties have to rename everything in order to push Marxist Mayo down our gullets, but they are better functioning that anything Hugo “Jugo” Chavez has cooking in Venezuela or Castro in Cuba or Help Me I am Mentally Ill in North Korea.
So can the polemic about Paul, and Rudy being this and being that. It’s nonsense and you know it. Rudy is a New York Pol. Quack Quack. Ron Paul is a senile phony with one last wad to shoot before he gets tossed out of political life on his keester like that carney jester from Cleveland with the trophy wife.
Tell ya what. let’s have a spelling contest among all the presidential candidates and the best speller will be the next prez. they are all so corrupt and inept that it might be the best way to shake that bag of fleas out so we can get on with having a national life.
before i let you go, i’ll wager you that Alberto Gonzalez gets off scot free because Chuck “The Seltzer Salesman” Schumer and Pat “Pork Me” Leahy will drown in their own saliva over the prospects of frying an attorney general. And i will bet further that Alberto’s retirement package makes Schumer and Leahy’s look like the kettle of a Salvation Army Santa outside a synagogue.
Now go put your maid’s outfit on and get back to work for Mrs. Paul. Isn’t she in the frozen fish biz?
( Polite Golf-Course Applause for bear1909 )
No, I haven’t laid eyes on Mrs. Paul, but I understand she can do great things with fish sticks. If we want to arbitrarily decide the president, why not best trophy wife–the finalists: DennisK, FredT, and Hillary.
LMAO @ Beary funny!!!!!
What a way with words. My imagination was running wild!
How about this for a ticket:
Ron Paul / John Kerry
That way, at State Dinners they can serve fish sticks and Heinz tartar sauce.
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!
Pass the keg around!
Why not a ticket of Rudy Guiliani and Ron Paul? Call it Ru Paul.
Good One MikeB ! (gee, I hate paying him a compliment!)
lol..the Ru Paul ticket…interesting.
Rudy’s already got the drag outfit..
( and the crowd goes ‘Oooooooooohhh’ )
Don’t forget the Thompson Twins: Fred and Tommy.
LOL…Easy Campaign song there…
“Hold me now…..Whoa-oh.. Warm my heart!”
Eeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww
LOL Jrl
Awwww shucks! I was jes funnin with the Boy…..Bears have been known to chase and eat golfers out here….just thot i’d mention it.
GAWD! The Thompson Twins!!!! lol hoo yaww….i was living in Southern Illinois when they were famous…workin at the University there in some godforsaken desk job and pursuing “education for hire”. You’d hear this TT type music on the popular radio stations, blaring out across the southern 7 counties where the entire population has may seven full sets of teeth….shiver me timbers!
My last year down there was during Gulf War 1. A little blast from the past.
It’s nap time, Chilluns. Yaw be coo’!
This is Bear 1909 from Berkeley California. OUT!
Image: Big ol Bear sackin out on the glider with a boat drink in his paw, overlookin the SFO Bay and a head on shot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Sun is out. 73 degrees.
Geez Bear, get to the ballpark…..Barry’s playin tonight!
yawn….strrrrrrrrrrrretccchhhh….i can see the park from here ajmontana.
No amount of fog and cold wet air is worth it to see that Prima Dona Lyin Cheat swing his bat.
I go back a long way with the Giants…saw Clemente and Stargell play their first games at Candlestick. Saw Juan “I peetch a pritty gooball” Marichal club Johnny Roseboro. Shook Captain Willie’s leathery hand more than once while watching batting practic on the dugout roof (no security risks back then).
Real ballplayers doing things the hard way. Barry’s pretty far gone. He’s in a tough spot. But he isn’t a hero. So i don’t plunk down greenbacks to see him do his thing. His dad was a helluva ballplayer. Something got into Barry’s bean and mucked up the family name.
I mean no offense. I just don’t pay to watch fraud. Don’t go to Raider games since Alzado came clean about his roid use. And I love the Raiders. I just don’t give the NFL my money anymore.
I had a great childhood watching the greats through the late late 50s 60s and early 70s (Reggie Jackson in Oakland). Doin it the hard way.
I see MikeB, famous attorney of blogs, is back talkin’ to us (yep, misspelled, Mikey) his talkin’ points to bore me into a comatose state with his superior intellect. Yep, you’re real swell, Mike. Where are your clients who you need to bill instead of bloggin’?
I won’t feed the troll but once today, but I do want to expose Mikey’s predictable talkin’ points (which is why I now scroll past when I seen his moniker). Here is a partial list of his outline (no, wonder boy, am not quoting you):
-Inserts “war in Iraq” frequently
-Bush is evil
-Gonzales is evil
-Bush/Cheney/Golzales are evil
-We are in Iraq for the oil
-Cheney is evil
-Murdoch is evil
-Fox News is evil (with percentage points and blather about Anna Nichole)
…see a trend?
-Conservatives are evil unless they debate him as that makes them more open minded
-Frequent insults about Hannity,Rush, Ann Coulter, etc. “hijacking” us
-Regular, daily insults about Michelle who he refers to a “MM” (who laughs at him as much as I do)
-Bush cut and run from the real threat: bin Laden
-We are in Iraq for the wrong reasons
-Bush lied. People died
-Culture of corruption
-Clinton was the greatest
-I am voting for Barak–so impressive
Wash.Rinse.Repeat.Repeat.Repeat.
I have been working (yes, I also finished college and have degrees!!) and have not had time to read your blather today so, perhaps, you have had an epiphany and are not spewing your Fahrenheit 911 points and I missed that moment in history.
I have a question for you, MikeB, if you don’t like Michelle Malkin and the good that she does, why are you here? To sway us to the other side? Er, don’t think that will work in this crowd.
Actually, don’t bother answering as it is obvious why you are here—to stir the pot (you lawyers just luv to argue) and, usually, get off topic to hammer home your liberal, stooopid views about the war in Iraq.
(Yes, Michael, I added THREE ooo’s this time). Ah kin spel.
No one minds your political views—even though we have heard most of them several times quoted from more famous people than you. So I will look for your name when I have the next bout of insomnia.
I, for one, am tired of your constantly cutting down Michelle who is, in my humble opinion, one of the best Americans today. She believes in freedom, protecting our borders from the tsunami of illegals (who, by the way, increase crime and have nearly destroyed our health care system—something Michael Moore seems to have missed). She also supports our soldiers in Iraq and their mission. So shove off if you continue in this vein.
I hear ya bear, but I still love my baseball…enjoy you’re evening…..
LOL Lindsay, deep breaths..123, deep breaths….
Thanks, I feel better now.
yw
you too ‘tana…i love watchin my nine year old cub switch hit without any formal training…drives the baseball dads nuts as they curse their kids under the breath because they can’t quite do it…..ah heck…let em hit the dang thing however they can…they’re only 9.
Lindsay is a hoot.
Mikey Buh Buh Buh Beeeeee! You’ve been snorting Pelosi Galore’s Botox again now haventcha? ewwwwww!!!!! She’s on YOUR side! Her and Gavin The Gruesome, Mr Sanctuary City himself.
Time to pull the plug on the freak show!
Mikey. You know we love you. But damnation, Boy! Why must you toss your little rubber biscuits at the battleships?
Time for some yoga, Dude.
Image: A very large bear doin the downward dawg. LMAO!!!!!
If airports want to place Islamic foot baths for Muslims, that is their choice. I’m anti-Giuliani. He is hardcore police state, hardcore pro-police even if they beat you up, he is pro-gay, pro-abortion, have anti-black views and pro-drag queen. What a guy he is.
Off the topic and sorry to disrupt!
To Deacon fans;
Wake Forest University basketball coach – aged 56 died. I believe he was jogging and had a massive heart attack.
A true oss for the ACC.
that should read, “LOSS”.
Dangit. Can I get one post correct without an error?!?!?
Gayle, I am sorry about the WF coach, he will be missed by the ACC and many people.
Here is another man who died too young and knew how CAIR operates. Doug Marlette was a syndicated cartoonist who died in a car crash last month.
Here is what he wrote about CAIR after he (who considered himself an equal opportunity offender) drew a cartoon that offended the easily offended religion of peace:
“Can you say “fatwa”? My newspaper, The Tallahassee Democrat, and I received more than 20,000 e-mails demanding an apology for misrepresenting the peace-loving religion of the Prophet Mohammed — or else. Some spelled out the “else”: death, mutilation, Internet spam. “I will cut your fingers and put them in your mother’s ass.” “What you did, Mr. Dog, will cost you your life. Soon you will join the dogs . . . hahaha in hell.” “Just wait . . . we will see you in hell with all jews . . . .” The onslaught was orchestrated by an organization called the Council on American-Islamic Relations. CAIR bills itself as an “advocacy group.” I was to discover that among the followers of Islam it advocated for were the men convicted of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. At any rate, its campaign against me included flash-floods of e-mail intended to shut down servers at my newspaper and my syndicate, as well as viruses aimed at my home computer. The controversy became a subject of newspaper editorials, columns, Web logs, talk radio, and CNN. I was condemned on the front page of the Saudi publication Arab News by the secretary general of the Muslim World League.”
http://cjrarchives.org/issues/2003/6/satan-marlette.asp
I read that he and his newspaper, The Tallahassee Democrat, received almost 40,000 emails from CAIR. Doug Marlette never apologised. RIP.
Rudy is correct: Islamic terrorism is a real and present threat to our civilization. CAIR knowingly plays the politically correct cards and uses our laws to suit themselves. Freedom of speech is one of our rights as a democracy and they need to understand that.
I support Rudy today and others who are not afraid of being politically correct on this issue. Unlike Al Gore, I believe this is the most important issue of our lifetimes.
Good morning one and all, Bear I can’t believe it a rock ribbed conservative in the City by the Bay? For once we agree in our condemnation of Barry Bonds. Wait, I hear a roid rage coming on…Lindsay–you asked why am I here? Just to make your day. I know it give you such joy to misquote me. I don’t use the word “evil” that’s a Hannity thing. But, Hannity knows nothing about shades of gray, actually knows nothing period. I also don’t think we’re in Iraq for oil–Neo Cons are smarter than that. We are in Iraq to usher in by gunpoint a flowering of democracy in the Middle East, because we are oh, so smart and know everything about everything.
Raging, I have no idea what on earth you are talking about. I am a huge advocate for rape victims rights (both male rape and female rape). I was objecting to gayle using a rape analogy to describe liberals and their mentality. Although she was trying to make a point to MikeB, I objected to the analogy because it is not fair to mix politics with such an emotional topic.
Rape is a strong term that has a deep meaning to too many people in this country. Politics is supposed to be about the interchange of ideas and interests. But at the end of the day, we must all have to agree that we have the right to hold those opinions.
But a rape “analogy” to describe any political group or viewpoint is out of order in my opinion.
Of course, gayle has the right to hold that opinion and use that term if she likes. I am making an objection and was asking for a different way to describe a liberal mentality if she doesn’t like their point of view.
Well gayle, I guess I will sum up my feelings by saying that I believe it is possible to have a good, quality political debate hence while I’m here. I enjoy hearing from liberals, conservatives, and independents. The reason why I did not answer yesterday is because I had something come up that I had to leave the computer. Over the next few days, my computer access will be limited as well. Believe me, I would have loved to continue our discussion.
At any rate, it just seems interesting to me that not many people who support the current War in Iraq seem to remember the WMD which was the premise by which we went into the country. The same GOP talking point is brought up against this question by saying “If you were in charge, Saddam would still be in power” etc. This is nonsense because it is a doubtful disputation that cannot be proven. Although I applaud people like BOR who say “OK, I was wrong about WMD. Now let’s figure out how to solve this.”
But we are currently in Iraq and looking back is not going to change anything now. But I am concerned, just like O’reilly is, that the Iraqi people aren’t shouldering the responsibility as they should. This is made more frustrating when revenge against the same ruthless killers 6 years after 9/11 has still not been carried out. I want Bin Laden dead. Afghanistan should be our primary concern in the War on Terror.
I am grateful to MM for the opportunity to share our opinions. The fact that we are able to have this conservation is a tribute to the country who gives us that right and the men and women who have defended and continue to defend.
And R.I.P. to the Wake coach as well. A tragic loss indeed.
I’m starting to like Giuliani. I got his 12 points in the mail and I liked every one. If I voted today, he’d be my choice.
