Friday Factor

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 27, 2007 03:20 PM

I’m guest-hosting tonight for The O’Reilly Factor. Tune in at 8pm Eastern. Some good, meaty topics: Hazleton PA and the anti-illegal immigration ordinance ruling, a discussion of the “Scott Thomas” case and Iraq war reporting with milbloggers J.D. Johannes and Jeff Emanuel, and PETA vs. Michael Vick, among others.

Yes, there will be a Lindsay Lohan segment. Don’t blame me. You can always use it to take a bathroom break.

;)

Lindsay Lohan why? I mean it has been covered more then it warrants already. Monica Crowley made this her entire blog for the last couple of days. I never can figure out why, when it is news with any substance, the subject is reduced to the crawl and the tabloid is up top. It would be great to see it flipped just once.

Imus is supposed to be close to a settlement with Moonves but Moonves wants to match any offer- the story today, in the New York Post. That is like entertainment news. I want to know where Imus is going to land, some say he is putting feelers out to Clear Channel, and others, I hope he simulcast again. Imus wants back on the air. I think the sooner the better.

I will be watching, you are mine and my in-laws favorite, unfortunately my husband thinks Anne Coulter, is the Bomb. He just isn’t right about Anne Coulter.

We have to send some compliments or kudos to Fox C/O O’Reilly to let them know how much we enjoy MM filling in for O’Reilly. That said, we also have to be careful not to go so overboard that he feels threatened - the man’s ego surpasses the circumference of the planet. Let him think that MM is his protege. At least he had the foresight to see MM’s talent and wisdom and how it would enhance his shows. Look forward to every show.

Funny, most men I’ve talked to think that MM is the bomb - and feel totally threatened by, or seriously dislike, Coulter. I adore Coulter, in small doses, but wish she’d tamp it down just a tad.

Hey did anyone see this story from Breibart.com?

Liberal activists are stepping up their campaign against Fox News Channel by pressuring advertisers not to patronize the network.
MoveOn.org, the Campaign for America’s Future and liberal blogs like DailyKos.com are asking thousands of supporters to monitor who is advertising on the network. Once a database is gathered, an organized phone-calling campaign will begin, said Jim Gilliam, vice president of media strategy for Brave New Films, a company that has made anti-Fox videos.

The groups have successfully pressured Democratic presidential candidates not to appear at any debate sponsored by Fox, and are also trying to get Home Depot Inc. to stop advertising there.

    http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8QL52780&show_article=1

I think we need to keep track of advertisers, too, and let them know we support their businesses and sponsorship of Fox News.

For that I am grateful. MikeB, your super-candidates, Hillary and Obama look more like hipocrites every day talking down about Fox News and yet embracing the man responsible for the very existence of the Fox News “right wing conspiracy”. Concerning the Lohan segment, i’m kinda glad it was on but wish it was addressed a little differently. There is a cultural issue going on here that needs to be discussed more. when you have celebrities running around breaking laws and getting away with it. supposedly she was even ranting in the car to her three passengers how she can do whatever she wants and won’t get in trouble for it because she is a celebrity. and then blames the black kid. she sure knows how to work the system. i wish somebody would send a message to all these holier than though celebrities and send her ass to jail for a long time.

i’m starting to get tired of hearing Bill repeat that there were no WMD’s in Iraq. There were WMDs, ask the Kurds, we just don’t know if Saddam gave them to somebody else before the invasion or if he disposed of them long ago. Either way it perpetuates the myth that our ousting of saddam was unjustified and it gives anti-war advocates too much wiggle room when they bash bush and the war.

other than that, great show Michelle as always!

Nice vision. The replanted car dealerships will displace a business that has been in the City forever and is ranked in the top 8 sales taxpayers in the area. This is “smart development” to fight “global warming” and it is coming to your city.

For saying Nappy Headed Ho, in the context of a joke, trying to parody hip hop…but Vick is going to loose his sponsors or they are suspending his endorsements, and I am supposed to feel sorry for him? He is going to get paid all this year for not playing football. Nice work if you can get it.

Imus didn’t even get investigated by the FCC, he broke no rules or laws in fact his contract with CBS encouraged him to be controversial and edgy. People say it isn’t fair to compare these two different issues. I say it points out the MSM double standards regarding treatment of people based on ethnicity. Vick is presumed innocent, until or otherwise found guilty. Imus got lynched.

Move on. org is planning a secondary boycott of the new FBC channel as I stated above, you can go to the article. They will use a media monitoring organization to do this, huh I wonder which one …not really I am being sarcastic. At which time they intend to collect information on all the advertizers and start a blitz campaign against this new channel’s sponsors. (A Secondary Boycott) Move on, wants to strangle FBC in it’s infancy, now you don’t think it will work or happen but this is what happened to Don Imus and they used it once before and they are planning on using it again. Media Matters was monitoring Don Imus for 2 years to catch a soundbite, they could use to get him off the air. Then they threatened the networks and when that looked like it might not be enough, they threatened the Network’s sponsors. The secondary boycott. Right now Move on, has Home Depot and Lowes, in their sights. I will stop buying from these two companys, if they cave in to this extortion.

I cannot consider Move on a Democrat- Liberal organization, they are anti Free Speech, this is Socialist behavior not American. What is Hillary Clinton’s position on Move on. I remember when Hillary Clinton’s book “Living History” was going to be distributed in China and the Chineses tried to edit what they didn’t like out of her book. Hillary insisted her Book be pulled, then to let any part of it be censored. I would like to know all of the Canidates for President of USA for 2008 position on FREE SPEECH. Have any of them been asked about this issue at all?

I seriously need to get cable again. I keep missing out on all of these opportunities to see you, Michelle. Although, the Ruby Tuesday I go to usually has Fox News on and I’ve caught the show there a few times. It’s just not the same when you have to read the closed captiions. Keep up the great work.
