Justice John Roberts hospitalized
Update: There are lots of folks monitoring left-wing blog comments sections for hate. But none top the editorial remark of the bloggers at Wonkette, who must be jealous of all the attention that the Daily Kos has gotten lately:

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., a seasonal resident of Hupper Island, located off Port Clyde, was taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport mid-day Monday.
St. George Ambulance responded to a call at about 2 p.m. Monday of a man who had fallen 5 to 10 feet and landed on a dock, hitting the back of his head. The patient was ashen and was foaming at the mouth. The patient had reportedly suffered a grand mal seizure and was transported to Penobscot Bay Medical Center.
As of Monday afternoon, Penobscot Bay Medical Center would not confirm that Roberts was a patient.
Roberts and his wife, Jane Roberts, purchased their home on Hupper Island in June 2006. The island is located a few hundreds yards off Port Clyde and is only accessible by boat.

“He was conscious and alert when they put him in the rescue (vehicle) and took him to Penobscot Bay Medical Center,” Polky said. A spokesman at the Rockport hospital did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press.
Chief Justice Roberts had suffered a seizure in 1993.

With all the laughing off of Conservatives bringing up the hate on Kos & other sites – and then the turning around and accusing this site of being hateful….how can anyone sane ignore such garbage on Wonkette….
Imagine the outrage if this were say, Hillary or Bill Clinton, or Justice Ginsberg, or some other Liberal and death wishes were posted on this or another conservative site….
The left is just WAITING to seize on that opportunity to bring it to everyone’s attention as to how mean and hateful Conservatives are.
Yet, with a straight face, they defend their own, truly hate-filled sites.

I’m sure regardless, that the folks from Democratic Underground are sending up warm wishes and prayers for Roberts’ speedy recovery.
This gets scarier when combined with Schumer’s suggestion that no more appointees get confirmed. My prayers go out to Justice Roberts and his family; it is just a shame that the left throws such ire to him, and their hypocrisy will one day get the best of them.

Does Schumer have an alibi? Just wait for UpChuck to hold a press conference declaring Roberts unfit for the High Court and he will pick the next Supreme Court Justice.

My prayers are with Chief Justice Roberts, his family and all those who fall to sudden illness. May God Bless them all.

I have been praying for the Chief Justice since I heard this. It sounds as if he will be ok. Prayers for his family as well during this time. Many are in prayer for them tonight. He is a good man.
Nobody is indispensable, but John Roberts is as close as it gets. While I wish no harm on anyone, Ruth Bader Ginsburg will live to 150, while John Roberts had a seizure at age 38.
He better be ok, and those that have been slandering him had better pray for him.

Recall how the right reacted when Sen. Tim Johnson (D-SD) had a stroke late last year? By and large, the right overwhelmingly wished him a speedy recovery and prayed for him and his family.
Compare that kind of reaction with that of the left when Tony Snow had cancer surgery (and chemo), and now the left’s reaction to Justice Roberts’ illness: sickening glee. Yeah, so much for that “compassion of the left” myth.

He will remain in a hospital in Maine overnight.
“It’s my understanding he’s fully recovered, said Christopher Burke, a spokesman for Penobscot Bay Medical Center, where Roberts was taken.
Roberts, 52, was taken by ambulance to the medical center, where he underwent a “thorough neurological evaluation, which revealed no cause for concern,” Arberg said in a statement.

I think this man is about the greatest chief justice I could have hoped for as a conservative and wish him a speedy recovery and pray for him and his family.

The article on Drudge states that Roberts is perfectly okay and he only suffered a few scrapes, which must really disappoint liberals who were gleeful this afternoon.
Thank God we have Roberts and Alito on the bench and may they serve many, many years!

What I find most perplexing is not the nature of these comments (the left-wing loons have been doing this for years), but the fact that HuffPo allowed comments on this article. Do they not know by now after numerous instances (Tony Snow, Dick Cheney, etc..) of remarks on conservatives illnesses/surgeries/medical procedures that the death wishers are going to be out in full force.

To be fair to the left, it’s been a while since they’ve claimed to be compassionate. They used that schtick back in the 80s and 90s to get the guilt vote, but once they got Clinton in office, they dropped the pretense.
The modern left has no humanitarian guiding principle. It’s pretty a mob of anarchists. Just look at ‘em when CSPAN shows them at their little gatherings. Those aren’t sensitive, caring people. They’re thugs.
oh gee.. maybe I had something else on my mind the last few days. I do have a life beyond politics. Heck, I’m an independant… politics isn’t even a big part of my life. I have 3 kids, a combat disabled vet husband, a dying father and freaking idiot family that insists on visiting because it’s ’summer in Maine’. I’m buying groceries, making meals and doing laundry for 12….
So either stop being cryptic or stop with the superior attitude. I’m a mom.. I don’t put up with it from my kids I’m sure as heck not going to put up with it from you.
Yep 3steps sounds like a mom. He is refering to Chuck Shumer (R-somestate back East), who has been threatening to block any Bush judicial nominees unless they live up to “real world” action test.

And for the record I have a brother that has had similar unexplainable seizures, they put you on medication and you live your life pretty normal, with the exception that every once in a while you can still have another one.
Thank God, we need him.
My mother has epilepsy. I grew up witnessing her seizures. As a toddler, it’s horrifying. Thankfully, epilepsy is treatable . (I’m assuming he’s epileptic since he had a “grand mal” seizure.)
Let’s also remember Judge Roberts’ family in our prayers. He has small children, and they may not fully understand his condition. Hopefully, Judge Roberts and his wife can help them understand that his condition is manageable and not life-threatening.
Just a note for General Information: Two food grade items that have been shown to cause seizures are diet sodas (aspartame) and certain antihistimines.
The diet drinks are blamed for a lot of different maladies and one doctor was interviewing a neurologist about it, hearing of all the brain surgeries coming as a direct result of it, and how they sometimes diagnose the cause by trying to provoke the gran mal seizures and if unable to, then giving the patient their favorite diet soda, waiting a few minutes.
The doctor had weight problems and when she heard this, she said she cut them out of her diet and within two weeks, all her migraines had stopped.
I only recently heard that some antihistimines could provoke the seizures, as well, but they didn’t name names.
Fox News reports everything is fine, they don’t know what proscribed treatment will come of it, but no problems were found, and he was released and left for home a few minutes ago.
They say that it is still very possible he will NEVER have another seizure the rest of his life.
They do THINK that he will be put on anti-seizure meds and not allowed to drive for a certain set length of time, and if nothing else happens, he may be allowed to resume driving and to be taken off the meds. (standard treatment)
Julius Caesar suffered from seizures. As did Harriet Tubman. Both did more than fine and that was without medication. Meanwhile the Lefties are getting ready to re-enact the Salem Witch Trials.

Schumer is (D) New York. I don’t know why wade would think he was in Maine and not sure what that had to do with Roberts.

Seizures happen. Sometimes there is no disernable reason for them. Sometimes there is. I just said I was hoping that the Chief Justice would be having a full neuro workup after his vacation. It could be nothing. It could be something. Better to be sure.
Don’t get snotty with me lady, it was a joke and the person was also on the same page as the original post. Life’s a bitch, keep it in your family, mine does not need your grief. If you don’t have time to keep up with events maybe you should not post uninformed.
