Well, I want Algoracle on this right away. Of course, trash cans is the answer, people. I used to live in AZ
and Nogales is one of the worst places I had ever seen. My mother didn't let go of me for a second. Open sewers,
etc. I have no reason to believe that it has improved in the past 40 years, but we need to secure our borders and information NOW.

traveler49 said:
I can’t wait to get one of these fences around my property. If pollen can’t get though it, imagine what it can do for my allergies!

I can also see farmers building this type of fence around their fruit trees that are damaged by birds. What a great concept.
It doesn't work on goats, though. As you know, according to Trent Lott, "There ain’t no fence big enough, high enough, strong enough, that you can keep those goats in that fence." And that's why there are herds of untameable goats surging down the streets of Manhattan right this minute.

Illegal aliens burying border in garbage
TUCSON - After three years of cleanups, the federal government has achieved no better than a 1 percent solution for the problem of trash left in southern Arizona by illegal border-crossers. Cleanup crews from various agencies, volunteer groups and the Tohono O'odham Nation hauled about 250,000 pounds of trash from thousands of acres of federal, state and private land across southern Arizona from 2002 to 2005, says the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. But that's only a fraction of the nearly 25 million pounds of trash thought to be out there. Authorities estimate the 3.2 million-plus immigrants caught by the Border Patrol dropped that much garbage in the southern Arizona desert from July 1999 through June 2005. The figure assumes that each illegal immigrant discards eight pounds of trash, the weight of some abandoned backpacks found in the desert.

Mexico complaining? Say it ain't so!
Are they complaining about our free education? Healthcare? Revolving door policy? Auto insurance - Oh..they don't use that.
No amount of money or number of phone calls will get that fence built, or the border closed. Somewhere along the line, folks are going to TELL the government to get it done, not request.
Just the way it works.

Waiting for my response from Rick.

Well, gayle, I'll stick my nose in here to interject just a few thoughts.

I wouldn't expect much in the way of an ongoing convo with Rick on this. Not because he's a bad guy o anything like that.

I've done a bit of "modding" going back to the Jurassic Era of the internet. Most mods don't get into long debates as to what's kosher and what ain't. It just takes up to much time and energy & serves no purpose pointing out the minutae of perceived problematic posts. It just kinda drags on and on and on, etc.

I obviously can't speak as to what Rick has in mind. I know that all of us sometimes have lapses of judgment; probably half my posts, for various reasons, never make it to "submit comment" stage. And that's a good thing, lol.

I try to not to abuse Michelle's hospitality, I don't know that I always succeed. I'm sure that you have no inclination or interest in intentionally doing so either.

We're all both or own best and worst judges - at the same time : )

What I would suggest, if you are really curious, would be to email Rick at his website. (from the link in his name). I don't know that he has the time to handle all his email (which of us does, lol?) right away. But I'm bettin' a short friendly note asking what could be considered "inappropiate" would maybe get you a short, friendly note back. You may still not agree with Rick's objections, but at least you'd get an idea of what may be considered out-of-line.

Also, mods don't usually go much for public dramas and prefer things be handled "off the board", so that's another factor.

I'm not aware of what was considered objectionable and I'm positive you would never intend to come off as such, gayle.

Well, you didn't ask for my 2 cents but I threw 'em in anyway, hahaha! (Can you spare a dime - now I'm broke!)

Let's compare the environmental damage from a fence to the environmental damage of a dirty bomb being set off downtown USA.

I have no faith that the US gov't is going to do anything significant to protect our borders until after the next successful major terrorist attack on our soil. I will be thrilled to be proven absolutely wrong.
